We need reasonable accountability for the bad apples in the police, so the good ones (the vast majority) don't get deamonized by the ones like C, or the idiot who can't differentiate between a gun and a taser.
But we have regressed to a point the LWWs want no police, and the RWWs want a Gestapo.

tell you what .. i'll stand 10 feet from you and throw a tennis ball at you and let's see which hand you instinctively use to catch it.
wanna bet it's your dominate hand?

What happened to all that training?

Cops don't train much, which is why they get out of shape fast and are piss poor shots.

‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ sequel reveals dark side of Atticus Finch

SAM SACKS, WEEKEND JOURNAL:
Yes. Atticus Finch is revealed to be a segregationist, someone who joins an organization to resist the integration movement that happened after Brown versus Board of Education.
HARI SREENIVASAN:
And this was a book that Harper Lee wrote before "To Kill a Mockingbird", so it's not sequentially a sequel.

Tell that to Waco. Did he, or did he not, get the training to be released in to "combat"? Did that other idiot in Minneapolis receive adequate training to be released into "combat"? Not knowing which side of her belt the tazer was on. We all know that was just the excuse given. How stupid can she be? As stupid as she takes the rest of the world to be?
The DOJ will investigate. Like it takes a fuckin' federal investigation to figure out that some idiots make it through training and/or just don't give a fuck about it. Sir.

Which is why my comment, it IS the RWWs, not the RW, that blindly support Chauvin. Just as it is the LWWs, not the LW, that wants to defund police. You are correct, NO ONE wants rouge actions by police--the issue is what do some people thing is "rogue action".
so as usual you pick the far fringe of both left and right as the "majority" to attempt to prove a point that is pointless.
Nowhere did I say they were the majority.
But they are the ones on both sides who get the press. I give you RW "star" Tucker Carlson as one who is so shook up that Chauvin was convicted that he cut of the NYC ex-corrections officer who said what Chauvin did was wrong. Lots of snowflake in that Tucker guy I guess.
my tennis ball example is valid. you'd instinctively use your right hand, assuming like most people you are right handed. could you catch that tennis ball left handed? of course. if you were prepared and expecting it. but what would you do if you weren't?
in these situations when something unexpected happens training is essential but it does not guarantee the correct response. anyone who was ever in combat knows this. individuals react to stressful situations differently.
Absolutely people react to stress differently. But that kind of "judgement" call is fundamentally and critically WRONG, and should not be tolerated.
the real issue here is that because that officer is white and the suspect who had a warrant and tried to flee (see the pattern here?) is black they'll crucify her to satisfy a far left radical group, BLM/Antifa. these politicos actually think they can satisfy these radicals by letting them burn down some buildings. this is fucking stupid and needs to stop.
|
Anyone who crucifies her BECAUSE of his & her color is wrong. Period. But crucifying her for using deadly force "accidentally" in that situation is perfectly correct.
I can use deadly force if someone is tring to seriously harm me, but if they run away and are not a threat to me any more, I cannot. I never said the guy she shot was a good guy. But if he was not a clear and imminent threat, lethal force is wrong.
And your description says she probably had even more time to tell the difference.

Oh, you get the training in the beginning. But do they keep up with it more than what is required by the department, which is what? MAYBE annually? You need to be hitting the range on your days off doing drills, not just standing there with your shit already drawn and trying to get groups like a Fudd. You need to be doing some sort of fighting sport, (BJJ is popular I understand), etc if you want to stay at the top of your game.
When they say "26 year veteran" I hear "desk jockey" or "traded fitness and prowess for street smarts and red tape shortcuts".

Still an independent. Black kid fleeing with a gun, shot when he turned...justified. Black girl shot attacking another with a knife...justified. Both were a credible physical threat to the life of the officer or someone else. A shame they were so young.
Floyd was cuffed and NOT a credible threat to the life of another at the time he was suffocated.

correct on all accounts. Floyd played a role in what happened by resisting arrest however Chauvin went way too far in restraining Floyd.
Chauvin wasn't even the arresting officer, he arrived as backup just before they tried to put him into the squad car. one thing i've not heard is who was the senior officer at the scene. it might have been Chauvin, might not. in standard police protocol the senior officer takes charge of the scene. so was that? if it was Chauvin it explains why no other officer told him to let up on Floyd. if he wasn't then whoever was had the authority to order Chauvin to let up and should have far sooner.
