I've never really been a fan of Stroud's chicken. It's pan fried and the crust is basically flavorless. I do like their livers and gizzards, their chicken fried steak, and their chicken soup.

Gus's is my favorite fried chicken in the area. It is Nashville hot chicken, and they don't offer it any other way, so if spicy is not your thing then you won't like it. The sides are good, and they have the best chess pie in the area. It's one of the things I miss most about giving up sweets.

It's not cold out. Not at all. A bit cool perhaps....
Nice weather for firing up the old cast iron on the back patio and making heavy snacks for watching the Daytona.
