I remember the Summer of '74, July, I was working while in college and my parents/brother/sister all went on a three week trip to CA. It was 97 to over 100 during that stretch and humidity at least 75% every day and never rained. House had no air conditioner, just two large Homart window fans that pulled the air through. They didn't do heat indexes back then. I have never sweated so much in my life and for the first time in my life, I slept nude on top of the sheets.

Yes, it is hot out now but it is bearable because I can go into the A/C. And since I put in at least R-50-60 in our attic Spring of '19, my electric bill is so much less, as much as 505 compared to previous year and even taken in consideration the average temperature difference...I know, some know it all will tell me that is too much but I chose to put in more because if you buy 30 bags, it is considerably less. And I still returned some of the bags.

If you haven't checked your insulation, you should do so. It may have been certified R-30 but it has settled and, in my case, they left huge pockets that you couldn't see unless you were crawling all over the attic, in one area behind an offset, there was no insulation. And a ceiling vent connection that was only about 75% on and I only found that out as the heat came on while I was up in the attic and near the vent. Enough of my insulation lecture for the day.

I have seen a lot worse. The humidity needs to be up there to make it miserable. If you really want to feel the heat, take a trip into your attic. On days like this, it can be 140 degrees up there. Just like pre-heat on your oven.

Once upon a time, in a foreign land far, far away it was 106, in the shade.

In the ‘80s, in central Kansas it got to 105. Also got tp 20 below in Jan ‘85, windchill was somewhere near 40+ below.

Welcome to the Midwest US of A!

Currently 108 degrees Imperial Desert, Imperial County, Southern Calif.
Used to go motorcycling there once upon a zillion years ago.

Edit just dropped to a cool 107 degrees.

It is indeed summertime but most of us are lucky enough we've got a way to get out of the Heat. Don't forget your pets the elderly and those who have disabilities and can't help themselves as well
