Back many years ago when I lived out east in the NYC area, cops would shut down street races and crush the cars. They need to leave the spa's alone and go crush cars. I've seen videos of these races where they are doing donuts (they call it "Swinging') with the idiots standing in the middle of the donuts filming. The drivers loose control and hit the idiots or the spectators on the outside and run them over. I have also seen them, when they are not shutting down intersections or freeways for this crap, have this shit in parking lots. They vandalize the parking lots, tear up security equipment, vandalize any heavy equipment, ruin pavement, throw trash everywhere, set off fireworks and get fires started, blow out their tires and cause fires to happen to their own vehicles. I'm an old hot rodder from back in the day and we never ever did this kind of shit. Damn stupid cops. People wonder why the disrespect towards them.

I remember thinking Dallas was the envy of the rest of the world, or at least the USA, in terms of AMP's and what not. Now, it's worse than San Antonio! Things changed so rapidly this year, it's unreal. I guess you all were lucky it lasted as long as it did, but I think things will never be the way they used to be.

I’ve lived quite a few places and we definitely had the best scene going for quite a while. That being said we’ve gone through shut downs before(not the mass extinction we’re going through now). Some of the older guys in the scene might be able to elaborate on past situations from the 80s and 90s roustabouts.
Hopefully we will see things start to slowly come back the way they always have in the past. It is a sad commentary on our times when crime rates overall are going up up up but just to make them look like they’re doing fighting injustice. Only time will tell.
