People are losing their jobs and livelihoods. It's time to start opening up businesses, not shutting them down. It's also time to start using our medical care capacity. That's why we built it.

Mayor Turner and County Judge Hildago are going in the wrong direction and are making the cure more deadly than the disease.

Jeez, who pissed in your Cheerios? You two are basically saying the same thing although exNYer being a bit more specific. The denser the population the more likely the mass transit. I know someone who works at a large university (50K+), they shut down the campus to students but made everyone else come in. Oh yeah, you had to take the bus because of climate change virtue signalling.

A few weeks ago, the aisles of Kroger were as packed as most buses in Houston. It's allergy season here also.

It appears that corona does better in cooler, drier air than in warm moist air.
At this point obesity, smoking, age, and population density appear to be major factors. Also Hollywood celebrity.

New Orleans is trying to make race a factor. Let me guess in Wuhan a disproportionate number of infected were Chinese. Although I'm seeing stats that around 60% of the infected are men but there are likely social factors around that.

I don't know if you realize this but virtually every citizen of China is Asian!

As for deaths in the USA, I haven't seen any racial breakdown. I have seen news reports commenting upon disproportional impact, but I haven't seen the citations about the sources.

08Apr2020 positive tests 9,353 negative tests 86,905 deaths 177 total tests 96,258
09Apr2020 positive tests 10,230 negative tests 95,904 deaths 199 total tests 106134

9 out of 10 cases test negative among symptomatic persons getting limited resources. Just think how low it would be if everyone were tested.

Positive cases each day: (cumulative, not net of discharges)

(2877-2552)/2552 = 12.7% increase
(3266-2877)/2877 = 13.5% increase - mild, not exponential
(3997-3266)/3266 = 22.4% increase - definitely worse
(4669-3997)/3997 = 16.8% increase - not exponential
(5330-4669)/4669 = 14.2% increase - 2 straight days of a lower increase
(6110-5330)/5330 = 14.6% increase - flattened yet?
(6812-6110)/6110 = 11.4% increase - diminishing increase
(7276-6812)6812 = 6.8% increase - way fewer new cases than the day before!!
(8262-7276)/7276 = 13.6% increase - going the wrong way
(9353-8262)/8262 = 13.2% increase - peak? too early to say
(10,230-9353)/9353 = 9.4% increase - not a bad day

Since 25 March Daily deaths 6, 5, 4, 7, 4, 3, 17, 12, 20, 15, 22, 13, 14, 23,22

The increase in cases is less than the day before - which is an excellent occurrence.

6 days to double the number of cases is considered good.

Gnadfly was correct about the flattened curve.

I like the graph but I don't see how it isn't showing good success in Texas?

Flattening the curve doesn't mean absence of a curve.

Well, the death rate is flat right now.

As for the increase in cases, need to show the daily amount. That even went down from yesterday.

I spent 4 days in Galveston and left the morning of March 13, as I was passing thru Houston the radio station announced the first case of Covid 19 in the city. I talked to my friend yesterday and they now have 200 positive cases, some sick and some not.

The city council is considering a roadblock on 45 to stop visitors but at the same time open up the beaches and fishing piers for Galveston residents. Things that make you go wtf.

I got tremendously strong feeling I’m gonna miss red fish season.

Be careful j666. Go fishing, but do not take your long walk off a short pier.

Well, based upon your request I looked up the number in NYC.

Turns out, Asians in NYC die at the lowest rate of all!

10.2 per 100,000 for white NYC folks

8.4 per 100,000 for Asian NYC folks

Thanks to the racist policies of the de Blasio administration, loooks like Hispanics have the highest death rate, followed by African Americans.

Yes, I have a link for that.

DPST's are immediately screaming about viral "racism" and preferential treatment.

How does that correlate to any policies of the NYC administration?

It doesn’t. Just yous trying to spin the facts into your own racists narrative, Jewish Lawclerk.
