Dear Sweet Suzanna, when your IQ is out there beyond 80 th or 90th percentile one tends to be bored. Some people are comfortable talking about the common subjects in life, like football. Nothing wrong with football. One has to be smart enough to know the rules of the game, and how it played. Further enjoyment is knowing about the players and having a favorite team. The excitement of the game and the joy of the crowd is important to many.

One also has to be stupid enough to believe that the game is important.

Appreciate the people you meet in everyday life for what they are. Some of my best friends are stupid. Appreciate them for what they are. Some work hard at an education. They are still stupid after graduation, they just get a slightly better job.

You have to reach out and find interesting things. Few people read in the present society, so very few. One of my interview questions is to have an applicant list the books they have read in the last three years. Most are none, and they don't get the job.

Find the books you like, for you.

I believe being able to read and comprehend what you are reading, are important job skills. That being said, I could have put down a number of titles to books I have never read and you would have hired me. Where I have always worked, you were hired for your skills. I would much rather have my aircraft mechanic hired for being good at his job. Not how much he reads in his spare time.

Jr, I wasn't talking about any subject in particular. But things like 'I'm bored and 'what's there to do in Kansas City' are just ads. If they want to say that kind of stuff it needs to go to the sandbox or somewhere besides this page which is supposed to be about the hobby.

It varies and I have no idea why. Must be something hormonal or the mood I'm in. Sometimes it can be one or two minutes and other times I get frustrated and give up and it doesn't happen at all.
