Not sure what you mean by "finding spots". If you mean parking spots, there are lots all over on the US side. if you mean party spots, for hookers, they are all on the same block in the Zona Norte. Cross the border grab a cab, tell him "Hong Kong" and he will take you. It should be $5 but as a gringo they may shake you down for as much as $10. Pay it or argue over $5, that's your call. Uber is an option if you have cell service and Hong Kong has a free limo if you want to do that. But a cab is fastest and easiest.
When he drops you off at Hong Kong, just stay on that block and you'll have all you can handle. On a Tuesday night you probably won't want to go anywhere else anyway. Hong Kong will be the only busy place in the zona. But if you do go for a walk, exit the front door of Hong Kong and turn right.
Next door is Las Chavelas, owned by Hong Kong and they share a hotel. Draws a more local crowd, with Mexican music, live bands sometimes, locals dancing. The girls there are hookers, but mostly unsuitable for Hong Kong (older, heavier, don't earn enough, whatever). It will be pretty dead on a Tuesday.
Next to LC is the famous Adelita Bar. They have their own hotel. Girls there tend to have more silicone, and are thought to be sharkier. There may be some action here on a Tuesday.
Next to AB is La Gloria. Not worth entering on a Tuesday. At the corner if you turned right you'd head towards Playboy and La Malquerida and the infamous alley where the streetgirls stand. Head down the alley and you'll pass a bunch of smaller bars that will be dead on Tuesday and eventually make it back to the rear entrance of Hong Kong.
If you stand on that corner at La Gloria and look diagonally across the street to your left, you'll see the famous Chicago Club. It's worth a visit, even on a Tuesday. But don't go any further than that.
Back to the Hong Kong block on the other side of the street (called Calle Coahuila, if you are confused), will be a few restaurants, a convenience store (Oxxo), a shitty massage parlor, and finally Bar Tropical. Like Las Chavelas, this is also owned by Hong Kong and features newer girls and locals. It will be empty on a Tuesday. Cross the street to get to the famous taco stand, or just to return to Hong Kong.
That's it. Those are the places that matter to you, the gringo monger on a day trip. Catch a cab or the Hong Kong limo back to the border and return to the good old USA.
