Default If your enemy is destroying himself, let them.

This is an important signal. As I said before, nobody's got time for this nonsense.

Murkowski is one of a handful of moderate GOP senators who have expressed an openness to calling witnesses, including top Trump administration officials. For Democratic senators who need four Republican votes to support them on the issue, Murkowski's would be a critical vote.

Susan Collins of Maine, another Republican who has been open to witnesses, wrote a note to Chief Justice John Roberts, who is presiding over the trial, taking issue with Nadler's remark, according to a spokesperson.

"Well, I was stunned by Congressman Nadler's approach, and it reminded me that if we were in a normal debate in the Senate that the rule will be invoked to strike the words of the Senator, for imputing another Senator in this case," she said in a statement.

"So, I did write a note raising the issue of whether there had been a violation of the rules of the Senate, and I gave that note to Laura Dove, and well shortly thereafter the Chief Justice did admonish both sides and I was glad that he did," she added.

Fascist DPST's definitely look at deception and lies as their major stock in trade.

Had to wonder when I saw that. It is against the rules of the Senate to call another senator just a liar much less a traitor.

I saw it coming. If you look at the timeline on the newest thread by HedonistForever, I could sense the direction of the proceedings changing. And that was from just listening. You may note the post with the pettifogging definition.

The tone changed. Then the verbal castigation by Roberts. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the members of the impeachment team and the defense are not to address each other directly. In stark contrast to the English House of Commons or Parliament or whatever over there.

The English version is where the members address (attack) each other directly. (So much fun to listen to sometimes.) Whereas, in our system, a "chair" person of the chamber is assigned. So you address the chair, not the member. That's why, I believe, Roberts states ours' is the best deliberative body in the world.

I'm fascinated to hear your perception of how the direction changed. Please elaborate.

I don't think that is what caused the admonishment. Nadler was admonished for suggesting the Republicans were liars trying to cover up a crime at best and traitors at worst for not agreeing to everything the Democrats demanded. Roberts comment was "remember where you are". I guess Roberts thought he had to include Council to the President to seem fair though I don't believe Cipollone did anything comparable.

Which after the last couple of days, put's the rest of the worlds deliberative bodies in an even worse light if this is the best.

I admit I'm going off memory here. I remember it was late. I had the C-SPAN app going in the background. The pace of Nadler's speech quickened. There was an audible huffing and puffing to his words. A tinge of anger to them. Now that I read here, it's clear what those words were.

Maybe they didn't address each other directly, but the president's defense lawyer took it personally. The tension in the air was so thick, . . . .

Was it Cipollone? Or Sekulow who stepped to the microphone immediately after Nadler? Either way, I could see Roberts, in my minds eye, admonish both parties. The pause after the defense spoke was a big clue to what was about to happen.

I laughed and had to look up the word pettifogging.

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/202...re-he-lost-me/

“Republicans are VERY angry about Schiff’s decision to reference that CBS “head on a pike” report. Murkowski says “that’s where he lost me.” Barrasso says “whatever gains he may have made, he lost all of it — plus some — tonight.”

I'll bet the CBS "head on a pike" non-sourced story was planted by Schitt and the DNC.

This was not a "trial"!

There was not "trial" in the House and there's been none in the Senate.

For about three years Shitless has claimed OPENLY on interview after interview they had mountains of evidence supporting "their" claims against Trump, which includes the current allegations, and it was protected and he could not disclose it all. Well....

... he still hasn't!

Trump was correct when he alleged his Trump Tower digs were tapped, and ....
....Trump is correct that all this talk by the DimWits is fake.

BTW: Did PissLousy appear in the Senate Chambers at all? Did she "testify" about what all this means ......?

Now the DimWits are meeting with the White House mechanics to arrive at a passable bill for infrastructure spending that Trump promised when he took office. They have to sit across the table from the person they have been trashing, ridiculing, marginalizing, insulting, and persecuting .... negotiating ..... for what is in effect a JOBS BILL for U.S. citizens ..... FOR A CHANGE! They have to beg for his signature and Republican support in the Senate!

You just can't make this shit up!
