Anyone had any luck at the Casinos lately
Thinking of going to the casinos, but didn’t know if anyon has had any luck winning? I don’t mind dropping 2 or 3 bucks a spin for a mid size payout. Thinking of going in the afternoon, which I know is the senior citizen time slot.

I win quite frequently, but I also avoid certain games to increase my odds of winning.
Some tips (for floor games),
1. Blackjack and Video Poker have the best odds, but you need to know Basic Strategy on both at a bare minimum to decrease the casino edge (if you can count cards..which is legal, you can actually have an advantage at Blackjack).
2. Blackjack in Oklahoma sucks with the per hand ante you have to pay. There are some shops that don't have an ante, but you won't find that at Winstar or Choctaw.
3. I always say stay away from slots, but if you are going to play them, avoid "branded slots" such as an Elvis slot machine or Wizard of Oz etc. The casinos actually have to split the winnings with whomever is "branded" on the machine, so they drop the odds. Your best bet could be "Quick Hits" or another brand of "unbranded" slot machine.
4. Always play per spin max (only way to get to the progressives usually) and check your "per spin" amount. A penny slot machine can actually range from $2-$5 per spin at max bet.
5. If you play poker, you can make money there, but as with Blackjack and Video Poker, you might want to have at least basic strategy down before attempting.
I have made a decent living playing Blackjack in the past, but it is difficult in Oklahoma lol.

Early mornings and brunch is the old timers play time that come in on the buses, You can win something but most people put it all right back and some.
Fridays and Saturdays nights are good for talent hunting, the later it gets, the broker they get. That's when you make your move with small talk and see where it goes from there

Man, how do you win at Video Poker? A Royal Flush or a big ass bet on a 4 of a kind might win something, you screwed otherwise

On Video Poker, it's all a combination of the pay tables and playing basic strategy. (add in comps if you want)
Royal Flushes pay 4000 on a max bet. You will eventually hit one. With basic strategy to reduce your losses and the proper pay tables, your edge on certain games is actually higher than the casino. (Double Double Bonus can give a 100.06% return)
It's all about math and standard deviation. (Just like in Blackjack). It will take hundreds of hours and many winning and losing sessions, but eventually the math works out and you make so much per hour based on your bankroll.
Go look up Bob Dancer. He is the Video Poker king.
But the bottomline is the casino usually has a statistical advantage. Eventually, if you play baccarat, craps, roulette, slots, you may initially win, but statistically, you will lose in the long run. Blackjack and Video Poker are 2 of the few games that the casino can actually lose at in the long run.
They are just betting that the majority of people don't know basic strategy for either game to reduce their odds and so they still make those games readily available.
Also, if you see a Blackjack game that is paying 6:5 for Blackjack vs a normal 3:2 Blackjack game, don't play it (what a Blackjack pays out). The house edge jumps to 1.54% from 0.18% when it is a 6:5 game.
These are just some basics, but it's all about provable math.
If you want to see something scary, a true card counter will start to split 10s vs dealer 4,5, or 6 if the count is high enough. (And will usually have their max bets on the table LOL).

I heard that Thursday's and Sunday's are the days/nights to play? Has anyone else heard this.
I visit the Casinos when I can, but I honestly have better luck at the local gas station!!

Gas station casinos get more play = more losers and winners, there's no strategy to gambling, it's all about timing and luck

All these times I've visited Dallas and I never knew there were casinos there. Maybe I'll try my luck next month.

future studies will show that people who go to casinos to win money are the same ones that find themselves falling for hookers thinking they have a 'connection'.

That's why I play Texas Hold 'em instead of the slots. It's me against you and the better player wins the $. I don't have to play against the house odds which assures me of a long time loss.

I can play video poker for hours. double double bonus poker bet 5 at $1.25/hand and I usually end my time well without losing. Dont bother with the indian casinos. take your money to shreveport or vegas. The gaming on cruises can be very loose sometimes as well.
If you want to play tables, avoid side bets as they are very difficult to even break even.

Learn Texas Holdem - this is the only game where you play against other players on the table vs Casino. I always win (okay - it is more like 90% of the time).
My average winnings are around 900$ for a night. I play once a month.
All other games - you lose eventually.

If you can count cards (it's really not that difficult...and it's legal...just takes time to learn), you can get an edge over the casinos on blackjack.
It's just knowing when and how to bet when you have the advantage, and it takes a lot of hours. This is all mathematically proven.
However, I wouldn't play at Winstar or Choctaw, even if you paid me. The ante per hand destroys what you could be clearing an hour at the tables. If you are averaging $100 per hour but are having to pay out $100 an hour in antes, what is the point? Lol.

casino player magazine estimates $30/hr average on a $0.50 ante/hand (up to $50/hand, otherwise $1.00 ante/hand), no where close to $100/hr.
