This is a belated report of my trip to Tijuana September 14-17 over the Mexican Independence Day holiday. I flew Alaska Airlines nonstop from Kansas City. It’s a perfect flight, as I leave Kansas City at 9:00am and am in San Diego before 11:00. I can grab a coffee and and hit the trolley and am at the border before noon. It’s so convenient and I have the full day to hobby. This time I stopped by a cambio to get some pesos, then grabbed a cab to Hotel Pueblo Amigo. No problem checking in a bit early.
I usually do an escort to start my trip, since I’d rather have a girl come to me to start. However I had been messaging a girl on Seeking Arrangements and so I let her know I had arrived at the hotel and that she should come over. Woke up around 11am. Walked from Pueblo Amigo over to Costco to buy a membership ($30 in Mexico vs $60 in the US, what a deal!). Then strolled down to Plaza Rio to see the shopping center. I popped into the trendy little Foodgarden, which is a space for independent chefs to serve limited menus in a shared space. It was very cool, but it was all carbs (rice and bread and pizza) so I moved on to my initial plan. Lunch at Puerto Cocino Urbana. Amazing ceviche was perfect for a hot day, but a bit pricey. An admittedly very large bowl of octopus ceviche was MX$250 ($13). I took a lot of it back to the hotel fridge. The restaurant space was very inviting. I would definitely take a date here.

Grabbed a cab to the Zona around 5:00. Bars were setting up for the night’s festivities (the actual holiday was Monday, but all the parties are the night before so people can sleep off the hangover on the actual day off).
Adelita was busy and I had a good chat with Adriana from Cancun. She speaks English well enough, but I kept slipping into Spanish just trying to practice. Nice girl, but older with big fake tits. The lobster was very good, but I can't say it was any better or worse than in Puerto Nuevo. The meal (with tip and bottled water but no drinks or dessert) was about MX$650 ($35).
