U.S. spying on Israel swept up members of Congress

U.S. spying programs scooped up communications between members of Congress and Israeli leaders, giving the White House insight into Israel’s lobbying of U.S. lawmakers against the Iran nuclear deal, current and former U.S. officials told The Wall Street Journal.

The article, published Tuesday afternoon, reports that the U.S. continued to spy on select leaders of allied nations despite Odumbo’s pledge to curb such surveillance two years ago, and that it was a top priority to maintain spying on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government....

One senior U.S. official described the discovery of the swept-up communication as an “Oh s— moment” and feared that the executive branch would be accused of spying on Congress.

According to the report, Odumbo administration officials thought the information it uncovered could potentially counteract Netanyahu’s crusade to stop the nuclear deal. But rather than make a formal request to the NSA for the back-and-forth, an official said, the White House opted to allow the NSA to decide on its own — without leaving a paper trail by submitting a formal request.

“We didn’t say, ‘Do it,’” a senior U.S. official told the newspaper. “We didn’t say, ‘Don’t do it.’”

The report said the NSA removed the names of the lawmakers and personal information, as well as “trash talk” about the White House.

Declassified Docs Will Show That Samantha Power's 2016 Unmasking Efforts Were Related to Israel

Government documents that will soon be made public will reveal stunning information about former U.N. ambassador Samantha Power's voluminous unmasking efforts in 2016, according to multiple sources....

Power was unmasking people at a "freakishly rapid rate."

The former U.S. ambassador moved at such a rapid pace that she ended up "averaging more than one request for every working day in 2016," multiple sources told Fox News at the time. And she continued to seek identifying information about Americans caught up in incidental surveillance right up to President Trump’s inauguration....

According to OANN's Jack Posobiec, Power was targeting calls made about Israeli settlements.

"When Power found Gen Flynn making calls she opposed, she passed information to Sally Yates who opened Logan Act investigation ..."

According to Posobiec, the documents will show that Power was on a “one-woman crusade” for the Palestinians and against Israel in 2016....

"Odumbo WH was so incredibly hostile to Israel that they used extraconstitutional surveillance powers to spy on pro-Israel advocates to make sure they could thwart efforts to defend Israel," wrote Conservative Review's foreign policy expert Jordan Schachtel on Twitter. "Gross abuses of power & they got off scot-free, for now at least"....

According to former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos, the entire counterintelligence operation into the Trump campaign may have started because of his links to Israel.

Papadopoulos told Fox and Friends last week that he was “shocked” that the Mueller report included details suggesting that he was “illicitly targeted” because of his ties to Israel.

“I was actually really impressed and quite frankly shocked that Bob Mueller told the truth about why I was illicitly targeted and it really had nothing to do with Russia. It had to do with my ties to Israel,” Papadopoulos said.

The evidence shows that the Russians sought to sow universal discord during the 2016 election. The notion that the Russians "favored" Trump over hildebeest is the "opinion" of hildebeest minions working -- many at high levels in the Odumbo administration -- against Trump: the Boston Globe included.

The evidence is also now showing that Odumbo was targeting for surveillance individuals, e.g., Papadopoulos and Flynn, for having pro-Israel agendas.
