I agree with it being silly debating over your rate with a wanna be (but incidentally never-will-be) client. He probably started the text conversation, so to say "don't text me again" is just annoying. Be glad he ended the conversation. That's just time you get to keep for your sanity. LOL. When I get an email that even slightly indicates haggling...."delete". You should be happy with your rates. Its an exchange. If you feel good about what you are getting out of the exchange, then good on ya! If not, then you have the right to change YOUR rates based on YOUR needs. End of story.
I don't agree with upselling either. What's available is what's available and I don't think there should be extra charges for what you offer to begin with, but again, that's just me. As ThePrince and a few others have said: her price is her price. For that guy to say he wasn't into paying that price? To me that meant "I'm not interested in seeing YOU." Sorry you had your time wasted hon. But I bet it wouldn't have been a good session anyway, so lucky you.

I have had a few try to talk me down, and I tell them I'm sorry I can't help you, good luck finding what you are looking for and PLEASE be careful! It can be frustrating, but I always try to be diplomatic. Because you never know......

it is a market based business - if you are providing a good service and honest value at a reasonable price, then in a relatively decent economy you would be fine. i personally would never question a rate ... i simply decide if/when/where i want to spend my money.
it's and experience, not an asset ... how much is the experience worth ? different for every person, i guarantee.

As far as raising rates, if expenses go up so must rates. I don't see gas prices getting lower anytime soon, so it will have a ripple effect on product prices.
As has been said for a long time, you get what you pay for.

its only with a car do you haggle for prices.
Providers are not cars, no matter how pretty or awesome they are!

I haggled over price on all my Harley's and always got what I wanted to spent. The one that got away was a fully restored 1941 Indian Chief for 3g's, my So (bitch) said we didn't need another bike. UUUUGGGGGHHHHHHHHH.

I don't care to negotiate rates. If the price is fair I pay it, if not I call someone else. I do think that you should earn frequent flyer points though. You know something like buy 5 BJ's get the sixth one free. Just a thought.

I always view it as "the rates are what they are." I don't haggle, I don't argue, I think it's rude. If I can't afford the rates, I don't see that provider. Bear in mind, in this as in all things, you get what you pay for.

Honestly LR..you are the most accomodating person
that I have met in my hobby experience. Very kind and you put everything you have into every session. Don't even consider haggling over price, vists with you are a bargain at whatever price you set.
I only wish my schedule were flexible enough to see you more than I do.

Extremely frustrating-- happens a lot with guys with some overbearing sense of entitlement. If they haggle, it is an uncomfy session.
