Sincere request for advice.

Last week I had a doctor's appointment because of a chronic knee problem.

The surgeon wrote me a script for 120 of the yellow double strength Vicodins and told me to return in a month.

The med works great and eliminated 100% of the pain. They actually work better than great. It's almost magical and TGTBT.

I feel fantastic 15 minutes after I take one and have more energy than ever. I'm also cleaning non stop. They make me so happy and trouble and drama free.

The only side effect is that it makes my wiener itch. I have to rub it all the time like that dude on Sons of Anarchy.

I also tend to nod off when I lay down and watch TV at night but in a way that feels great too.

I'm taking them exactly as prescribed but I'm also setting an alarm so I know exactly when I can take the next one. I've never done that with any medication before and it seems kinda wierd.

To those in the medical field are they supposed to make me feel this way? Should l tell my doctor or will he get mad and stereotype me?

To the environmental dude. I have around 100 pills left and am thinking about flushing some or all of them. Will that hurt the water supply because I'm too embarrassed to take them back to the pharmacy and tell them.

I know I'm rambling but my gut is telling me that I need to ask these questions and get some answers even though I can stop at anytime I want.

Like I mentioned above, these are not illegal. They are prescribed to me and are being taken as directed.

I would suggest physical therapy. I had developed chronic pain in my arm & shoulder from an old injury. I didn't want to take pain killers unless it was the last choice. PT therapist used dry needle treatment. It's like acupuncture. A bit painful at the time but not too bad. But I can tell you in total honesty that after 3 treatments I saw marked improvement & after about 4 weeks of biweekly treatments I am completely painfree. In fact I have improved flexibility so I'm even better than when the pain began. PM me if you want the specific place I went to but I would think any reputable PT place can do it. And it was covered by insurance! So glad I didn't take pharmaceutical approach.

But ok.
Yes talk to Doc. Only low level idiot Doc's (rare) would react as you express a concern about. A good Doc may change the script. Note that pain meds just cover the issue, which will be back.
So..., consult with a Doc that's a Sports Knee Specialist. A doc with those credentials are super professionals. Sometimes chronic stuff can be trimmed. Arthritis is a life time thing though.

BTW, Champagne is correct. And your other concerns are also listed in the side effects for that as well.

I agree with WillyWonka about physical therapy. Ask your doctor about it. It helped me immensely.

It might also help to lose weight if you're carrying a few extra pounds. Google "ketogenic diet". There are arguments for and against it, but I lost about 30 pounds in about 4 months with no side effects.

It says it's okay to flush Vicodin when it's no longer needed, if there's no take-back option readily available.

You should for sure inform your doctor of the itch as it could be a serious side effect …


Also Walgreens (183/Duval one for sure) has a take back receptacle that you can deposit unwanted drugs into without ever having to talk to anyone...
