ok, back on topic... I've never had a provider actually ask me if I'm a cop. Don't know if that speaks good or bad of me... I did have a provider once look up at me with her mouth full and say "well I guess you're not a cop" lol.

Had one pull out her boob, then grab my hand and put it on her boob and said something about me not being a cop then.

Not sure of her logic, but it made her feel safe I guess.

I'm assumed she thought a cop would pull back or something.

Well, there is definitely non-applicability (and defense to prosecution) of plenty of crimes for certain categories of people (including cops). That's what I assumed this other guy was talking about. But no blank check to commit crimes, that's for sure.

For everyone's safety, the money comes after the action.

There are no entrapment laws in TX. They will commit a crime to make an arrest. It is what it is. I don't ask if they are affiliated with law enforcement. I simply state if you are affiliated with law enforcement I will see you if your off duty. Only once has a client asked why does it matter if I am on duty or off duty? I explained if you off duty your coming to spend time, if your on duty I am going to spend time. He laughed and said he never heard it put like that. He told me he was off duty. Alot of us see cops and don't ever know it. They are human and have needs to. Some cops have looked out for me. So I just treat them as I would any client. Remember it's not what we do its how we do it. Stay safe and screen.

Yes, there is. Entrapment doesn't mean what you think it means though.

A provider or client were already going to do what they planned on doing. LE didn't persuade them to do anything they weren't already intending to do. Therefore no entrapment.

Let's instead say a woman at a bar was picked up by a guy. They talked had a few drinks and then the woman decided the guy was cute & charming enough so she invited him up to her room. Just a civilian one night stand. No pay for play ever crossed her mind.

In the room the guy charmingly convinced her to rollplay as a provider and to take a "donation". She agreed and he laid down 2 bills and she started to take down his pants.

Next thing you know she's being arrested for solicitation.

That's entrapment.

Thanks for replying, grean. I was being lazy. Very good example. Well, actually, she’d be arrested for prostitution, but I get your point.

Good example. Entrapment is when LE entices someone to break the law, and that without that enticement, the person would not have broken the law.

Even if his scenario was reversed and the guy had been entrapped, your correction would be on point because Texas is weird and doesn't have separate statutes to describe the crime of selling and the crime of buying. It's bizarre, but it'll probably never change.

Advertising online and having or doing reviews basically obliterates any chance of an entrapment defense.

You could probably beat the case, but you're still taking the ride to update your latest mug shot for the world to see

Oh, for sure. If they can link you to anything that indicates that you've looked into breaking that law, then they have a strong argument that they didn't entice you.
