Back when I used to work that site it made a big deal about being a strict "sugar dating" site--that is, it specifically had new members acknowledge when they registered there that they had to be seeking a sugar relationship (ladies were looking to get an allowance, while men were looking for a woman to give an allowance to for a longerish term relationship); asking for or accepting a "pay per visit" (PPV) arrangement was specifically a bannable offense. That's probably still the rules there, but I haven't visited in quite a few months so things may have changed.
Even given that PPV was against the rules, a significant number of the women there were "flexible" enough about their arrangements that they'd entertain such an arrangement if offered, which pretty much made them the moral equivalent of escorts--and for that matter if you looked carefully enough you'd find a few ECCIE ladies on the site (usually they were there in the hopes of picking up a legit sugar daddy, not using SA as an additional marketing tool for their escort practice).
The advantage to working SA for PPV encounters, based on my both personal experience and reading men's posts in other forums here, is that since most of the ladies who were willing to accept PPV arrangements weren't in fact "in the hobby" formally, most of them had no idea of their "market value", so one could with a little skill negotiate an outrageously affordable encounter (a $300 overnight visit? I've seen it happen). The downside of it was running the risk that one would run into a lady who'd be insulted by the suggestion of a PPV arrangement ("What do you think I am? A PROSTITUTE?") and would report one to the admins there, which always (AFAICT) result in a swift ban from the site. The other downside was that (IMHO) SA was ridiculously expensive--you can't do more than browse the site without ponying up money, and the rates they'd charge you ($70/month for a one-month upgrade, though you could get the equivalent of a lower monthly rate if you subscribed for three months or a year at a time) weren't worth it, IMHO. The last disadvantage to the site IMO was that an absurd proportion of the women there suffered from ridiculous expectations, seriously thinking that most of the guys there would pay them an allowance of $5-10K per month for a purely platonic, social arrangement with no matress mauling whatsoever.
