Not sure that is what we are talking about with a VPN. But is solid advice in combination with one as both can be deactivated. If asked why you have a VPN on your phone, that is an easy one. Extra security for banking, credit transactions, etc. No big deal. The SO might even have you download it as you get up to a few devices with one account anyhow. And both don't share history with each other. Lots of folks are using them regularly now as the web becomes more advanced and traceable. Have friends currently getting their netflix accounts hacked by people abroad paying for them on the black market at discount rates with their passwords due to not having the protection a VPN provides, as well as a VPN secure router in their homes. So might even use that as an excuse to protect yourself and SO to have it on your devices.
Google voice is perfectly fine to get a second number, or any other app you may choose. However, that number is still bound to your IP address if you use it for any text or data by your cell carrier. Best safety is to have a second device paid for with cash with no name registered to it. While also using Nord VPN, or any other you like, when accessing certain sites.
A VPN is different from having a second number on an app. You might even turn your VPN on before you install and turn on your second number or use data for escort sites if using one device for everything. That would probably be the best practice if using a single device. I know a few ladies who have gone to a combo of Nord, SafeOffice, and a second device altogether. Probably the best.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, just explaining it the best way that I can to my knowledge of how this all works.
