Bull shit! Not a *.pdf file accessed from that page. Try again. If you can't correctly cite your source, then it's evident you don't have a source.

Life in prison is certainly punishment but it's also quite costly.

Actually it doesn't cost more to execute someone by lethal injection. The average cost per execution is about 1300.00. It just so happens that one of the main drugs used, Sodium Thiopental is manufactured by only one company in the United States and is very costly to manufacture in large quantities and there currently is an extreme shortage of the drug causing the price to increase far over what was originally intended. Sodium Thiopental is a fast acting Anesthesia which places a subject in a deep state of unconsciousness. The second drug used in the process is Pancuronium Bromide which is a muscle relaxant which in high enough dosages leads to extreme paralysis and inability to breath. The third drug used is Potassium Chloride when introduced into the body disrupts the normal heart rhythm causing the heart to speed up so rapidly that it will eventually stop. This drug induced racing of the heart would be extremely painful without the other drugs already present in the body. So essentially Lethal Injection is inducing Cardiac Arrest but without causing pain or discomfort to the subject its administered to. This is where the country is at in terms of the Death Penalty which is another debate which offers a wide range of opinions similar to Abortion and Gun Control.

"Dammit Jim, Im a doctor not a pussy-grabber". Jim im going to believe you because all you medical knowledge has been very accurate, but. By the time they pay all the lawyers, the appeals, etc, the cost of executing someone is more expensive than spending 40 years in prison. It would be even less if they put most in the prison general population instead of death row

6 volunteers with rifles. 3 blanks, 3 real rounds....what is that $8.00?
And death is almost instant. No one has to know how to find a good vein....
Yea, ok. You'll need a water hose for afterwards.
16 bucks at walmart.

I just gave you the cost of the actual procedure. All other costs probably vary from State to state. The legal system is really a "Non System" and tax payers fork out a hefty chunk of money to house inmates. The sad thing about the Correction system is only about 2% of all inmates are successfully rehabilitated where by they never enter the penal system again.

Since you can die quickly from an Air Embalism, and since air's free, why not dispose with those bloody chemicals, and just inject them with pure air!

Add to that imo part of the BIG cost with the 'death sentence', is how long they stay ON Death row in solitary, AND ALL their appeal after appeal after appeal they get..
IMO Death row should be ONE APPEAL, and a MAX of 5 years from time of conviction till sentence is carried out..

It doesn't cost very much to execute someone. What costs money is getting through all the liberal bullshit when you have the sucker dead to rights.
Like that illegal alien in California who killed two cops. He confessed, he's happy, he promises to kill more cops. In my world, they'd be burying him tomorrow morning.

There have been 161 people released fro death row since DNA testing came out. Is that collateral damage?
