Hi everyone!

I'm visiting SF for the first time, and am scoping out places to stay. Is the Plaza area generally the best option? How about the Railyard area?

The landscape is a lot different than here in GA... parking concerns I need to consider for discretion?

Anything else I should know?

In general the plaza and railyard areas both would be fine, and they are closer than you might imagine to one another.parking options are fine for both, railyard has an underground lot, and plenty of on street options. Plaza also has a public lot close to most hotels in the area. Cerrilos is the main artery through santa Fe, and offers a lot of budget options, but is a bit less discreet in parking terms.

It can be very scary on that rd a lot of drug addicts and homeless and a whole fucking lot of police

Check out the Luxx. Ask for room 27. You got a private parking garage, and your room has a back door to a little alleyway with a gate that's access key only. Pretty safe imo. nice place too
