Default america's technology management sucks

http://foreignpolicy.com/2017/07/28/...technology-rd/

this is an interesting read.

america's military need better management of emerging technology.

this article basically talks of the then British Empire on how they handled naval technology that emerged in the late 1800 and early 1900's. They went from sailing ships to steamships in a space of 50 years while maintaining their naval reputation as Queen of the Seas.

the brits delayed certain technologies as long as they could mainly they didn't want adversaries to develop and produce them cheaply and quickly.

I'm beginning to think the deployment of the F-22 & f-35 might've been a mistake.

Costly mistakes and overruns have been common with the US military as long as I've been alive. Delay some tech advance and one day you are showing up with a knife to a gun fight.

The F35 fighter is not the way war will be fought in the future and the USAF know it. Its a boondoggle to keep Lockheed profitable.

BTW, what this article says China is doing with our tech is exactly what the USSR did during the cold war. In fact, several "newer" planes were almost exact replicas of their US counterparts.
