I was aware of the discussion of a possible theory of what happened to the megafauna extinction as it relates to Mammoths. I think this was about 5 years ago. If I remember right, the archeologist found iridium debris in mammoth remains and theorized that there was a meteor/comet impact occurred. the debris pattern suggested the impact came from the north.
I had not thought about this connection to the flood legends with respect to the megafauna extinction and it makes sense.
i've read the biblical genesis and concluded the flood was the result of a meteor/comet impact. at the time, the location of the impact site was one can only guess.
there is a theory that a meteor/comet impacted the Canadian ice shelf 13000 years ago. an impact of this nature carries alot of energy. this would result in a hot boiling water and would cut thru ice like a hot knife on butter.
I have a suspicion that Lake Hudson is the site of the impact, its geographical features is fairly round.
