I would certainly agree with your first point, Danni...
if it is a well-written review that contains sufficient information to help assess what future expectations might be. Unfortunately, lately, the lion's share of reviews do not provide anything other than "yeah, I met here" intel.
As to your 2nd point, I have read on several ladies' ads and profiles that, for a variety of reasons, they do
not use a guy's reviews of other providers as a means for positive screening. While a provider may look at a potential client's review of a provider he has also given contact/reference info on, they are not using the review by itself as a screening tool.
And, finally, as to someone saying they will write a review and then they don't, it would really only be
not cool if the client was provided a special discount for a visit on the premise that he would write a review (the infamous "review special") which he took advantage of and then reneged on the promise.
Sometimes, though, for various reasons, we simply don't write the review. Mine, for example, are all generally centered around one specific "dining theme" and don't necessarily help the potential client who is looking at the review for other, more "mainstream" info.
