Venezuela in Chaos......

At what point will the the great Socialist Experiment in Venezuela turn into a total "Thugocracy".

The truth is, it is already there. It has been ever since Chavez decided to turn the entire Country into a episode of "The Beverly Hillbillies". Everybody lives off the oil revenues. It worked, for a while. Then oil prices plummeted, and Jed, Granny, Jethro, and Ellie May are scrounging for road kill to make possum stew.

Has anybody noticed that you see very little of this chaos on the Main Stream Media's major broadcasts.

It doesn't fit their narrative. Socialism works. The Government will take care of you. Everybody is equal.

Yeh, sure. Untill the money dries up. Then everybody is truly equal.

A rising tide lifts all ships. It also grounds them all when it goes out.

I'm not sure how true this next news link is, but it seems like the Eutopian Society paved the way for some enterprising crime bosses to move in. As if things weren't bad enough.

I should NEVER EVER GET INVOLVED in discussions like this but I think this is the best book every written to explain why some cultures are capable of 1st world out comes and others no matter what form of government they have are doomed to 3rd world out comes.

Very well put. They actually have excellent oil reserves, but they spent all the profits on lavish social programs instead of reinvestment in their exploration. Typical of third world countries, and a major reason for their economic problems.

What they don't waste on "social programs" for their friends, the "heads of state" steal for their "retirement"! Any half-smart execs in their "oil ministry" have two sets of books regarding their reserves and production to reduce the amount of embezzling.

I don't know. He's made so many inconsistent and contradictory statements that it's hard to keep track. Once he said he was for single-payer, and at other times seemed to think it was the worst thing ever implemented.
