Default Trump Republican Racist Shame

Donald Trump is a bigot. He wants to ban Muslims from entering the United States, believes that Hispanic and Latino immigrants come to America in order to rape and kill white women, uses anti-Semitic imagery to slur Hillary Clinton, and has been endorsed by white supremacists.

At present, the Republican Party is the United States’ largest white identity organization. There is a mountain of evidence in support of this claim. The Republican Party nurtures and cultivates hostility towards non-whites among its voters for the purpose of electoral gain. What is known as “The Southern Strategy” of racist “coded appeals” against African-Americans and other people of color has dominated Republican politics since (at least) the end of the civil rights movement. And during the Age of Obama, American politics has been poisoned by racist conspiracy theories such as “Birtherism,” lies that Barack Obama is a type of Manchurian candidate who actually hates America and wants to destroy it from within, efforts to rollback the won in blood gains of the Black Freedom Struggle, as well as unprecedented efforts by the Republican Party to abandon its basic responsibilities of governance in order to delegitimize the country’s first black president.

Donald Trump is not an outlier or aberration. In many ways, he perfectly embodies the racist attitudes and beliefs of the Republican Party in the post civil rights era. Likewise, Donald Trump’s supporters have enthusiastically embraced the Republican Party’s racism towards people of color, in general, and against black Americans, in particular.

As reported by a recent Reuters/Ipsos public opinion poll, Donald Trump supporters possess extreme levels — even as compared to other Republicans — of antipathy towards African-Americans:

"Supporters of U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump are more likely to describe African Americans as “criminal,” “unintelligent,” “lazy” and “violent” than voters who backed some Republican rivals in the primaries or who support Democratic contender Hillary Clinton, according to a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll.

Ahead of the Nov. 8 election to replace Barack Obama, the first black U.S. president, the poll also showed significant numbers of Americans in both the Republican and Democratic parties view blacks more negatively than whites, harbor anxiety about living in diverse neighborhoods and are concerned that affirmative action policies discriminate against whites.

Republicans in the survey expressed these concerns to a greater degree than Democrats, with Trump supporters presenting the most critical views of blacks.

The poll, conducted between March and June, interviewed 16,000 Americans and included 21 questions on attitudes about race. It sought responses from voters who support Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee, and her rival U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders. It also surveyed supporters of U.S. Senator Ted Cruz and Ohio Governor John Kasich, the last two Republican candidates to drop out of the race…

To be sure, not all Trump supporters expressed negative attitudes about blacks. No more than 50 percent of his supporters rated blacks negatively, relative to whites, on any of the six character traits in the poll.

Yet when their answers to the poll questions were compared with responses from supporters of other candidates, Trump supporters were always more critical of blacks on personality traits, analysis of the results showed.

The trend was consistent in the data, even when the results were filtered to include only white respondents to remove any impact that a different racial mix between Clinton and Trump supporters might play in the poll."

These findings are not surprising. They are but one more example of how the Republican Party and its voters have shifted farther to the right in the post civil rights era, as well as the deep connections between political polarization and white racism.

[African-Americans clearly understand the racist nature of Donald Trump’s campaign and his voters’ hostility towards people of color. To wit: As reported in a recentQuinnipiac University public opinion poll, only 1 percent of African-Americans support Donald Trump.]

For example, recent research by Michael Tesler has shown how “old fashioned racism”, what was once thought to be all but vanquished from American society, is resurgent among white voters in the Age of Obama. David Sears has also demonstrated how “modern racism” now predicts party identification for Republican voters in former Confederacy. Other researchers have shown that the Republican Party’s ostensibly “race neutral” talking points about “small government” and “personal responsibility” are in fact signals to white racial resentment.

In many ways, Donald Trump’s voters are the 2008 and 2012 Tea Party faction rebooted for the 2016 presidential election. Like the John Birch Society of the 1950s and 1960s, the Tea Party maintained its influence over the Republican Party while remaining under the radar of the so-called “liberal” corporate news media. As social scientists Christopher Parker, Eric Knowles, and others have extensively documented, Tea Party supporters possess high levels of racial hostility and antipathy towards people of color.

The finding by Reuters and Ipsos that “Nearly one-third of Clinton supporters described blacks as more “violent” and “criminal” than whites, and one-quarter described them as more “lazy” than whites” should also not be a surprise.

Political attitudes, values, and beliefs are often contradictory. While racial attitudes are often cited as an exception to this pattern (they are remarkably stable and consistent), the non-ideological nature of many voters in the American electorate can still help to explain why some Democrats may believe pernicious and ugly stereotypes about black people as a group, but still vote for Barack Obama, the individual.

In all, white supremacy is a feature of American society from before the Founding and through to the Age of Obama. Racism and white supremacy are a type of “changing same” in American life, culture, and politics. The election of a black man (twice) as President of the United States is a type of symbolic progress. However, what was in 2008 a heretofore unprecedented event, by itself, does little to correct the impact of centuries of interpersonal and institutional racism against people of color.

Ultimately, the new Reuters/Ipsos poll is a reminder that not all Republicans are racist. However, racists are more likely to be Republicans…and the most extreme among them are Donald Trump supporters.

Nobody is saying there are not racist democrats just that by far the majority of republicans are racist and Trump supporters even more so. The republican agenda is full of bigotry and those that support it tend to be backward thinking white men. They are being played by Trump and supported him because of his racist remarks, build the wall, ban the Muslims, Obama isn't a real American, there is my African american, then he appoints known racist like Bannon to guide him and rally the racist vote behind him. The funny part is everything he will actually do is going to hurt those racist supporters that backed him. OBama did more for the average American and Trump is tilting the scale further to the super wealthy. It is why all of his cabinet picks have been billionaires and Goldman Sacs people. Those that voted for him were suckered into thinking he would help them but actually he just knew to get your vote he had to appeal to your racist tendencies. He won't last 4 years.

This post is a bunch of malarky. You read one poll and you think rebublicans are more racist than democrats. If this election cycle proved anything it proved the polls can be wrong or dishonest. The fact of the matter is that racism exists, always has, always will exist. There is no scientific methodology to prove which party, group, etc is more racist than the other. And if Obama did more for the average folk why did they vote for Trump instead of Hillary. The rust belt voted for Trump, he flipped the counties that put Obama in the WH. Or did you completed miss that? It's obvious that you did because you've shown you barely scratch the surface on any topic. Trump isn't owned by anyone, he didn't take money from Wall Street, Hillary did. And I would rather have a billionaire running the Fed or the economy than a flunky like you. Again, the more you post the more you expose yourself as a low information voter.

Get your facts straight! More people voted for Hillary than Trump, almost 3 million more! OBama left office with almost a 70% approval rating, because of what he did for the majority of Americans! Yes trump is president but it's not because the majority of Americans wanted him! As a matter of fact no president has ever taken office with such a small amount of Americans voting for him. Even his fellow republicans wanted him to lose and don't like him, he only got the votes of racist and the uneducated!

I have my facts straight. Trump won 304 Electoral votes, HE WON THE ELECTION. And Obamas overall approval rating is lower than W and Richard Nixon http://www.investors.com/politics/co...r-president/on
And Bill Clinton won with only 43% of the popular vote in 1992, lower than Trump. You wouldn't know a fact if it shit on your head.

Bambino must be dealing in alternative facts he learns on Fox News, that's not reality!

And Renember The real Bambino was a liberal democrat!

CNN/ORC Poll: Confidence drops in Trump transition

Americans' impressions of Trump have worsened since November
Trump assumes office with the lowest of any recent president
(CNN) Donald Trump will become president Friday with an approval rating of just 40%, according to a new CNN/ORC Poll, the lowest of any recent president and 44 points below that of President Barack Obama, the 44th president.

Following a tumultuous transition period, approval ratings for Trump's handling of the transition are more than 20 points below those for any of his three most recent predecessors. Obama took the oath in 2009 with an 84% approval rating, 67% approved of Clinton's transition as of late December 1992 and 61% approved of George W. Bush's transition just before he took office in January 2001.

It is you that are a blind partisan hack and not very bright. I already debunked your Babe Ruth story, and I've offered links in my last post that debunks your other talking points. BTW, Trump has banned anyone in his administration from CNN. They only report fake news. Is that where you get your "facts"? Now run along StandingCrooked. Speaking to you is a fools errand. You have rocks in your head.

She gets a participation trophy. If you take out LA County and NYC, you know, where all the regular folks live, Trump won the popular vote by 500,000 votes. But read this link, its the second time I've posted it in this thread.

https://www.google.com/amp/nypost.co...tic-party/amp/

The Democratic Party is dying a slow death. You can talk about the popular vote all you want. Doesn't mean shit. The Republicans own D.C. now and pretty much local, and state governments around the country as well. Now run back to your momma's basement.

Default The Real Bambino a American Liberal

Babe Ruth was a liberal.
.
Babe Ruth's religion and political views
Religion
Ruth was a lifelong Catholic.
Political Views
Ruth was a Democrat,

~~~~~~~~~~~
.
Babe Ruth, whose real name was George Herman Ruth, Jr., was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. He died of pneumonia and complications from throat cancer in New York City in 1948.
Ruth was a Catholic. And not only did he attend Catholic school growing up, his parents actually signed custody of Ruth over to the Catholic missionaries at St. Mary’s Industrial School for Boys in Baltimore when he was seven-years-old. So Babe was quite literally raised by the Catholic Church.
Ruth has spoken about his childhood and his faith. He had a conversion of sorts. As a youngster, he was a delinquent–chewing tobacco and drinking and swearing. He says he had no faith in God before he was sent to the Catholic school and that the biggest lesson he got from the experience there was learning that “God was Boss.
As an adult, Ruth admits to straying from the church, but returning to the fold later in life. Ultimately, Ruth endorsed religious education, encouraging parents to bring their kids up in that old tradition, and stressing that despite whatever pitfalls might befall a person throughout their life, a strong religious tradition will bring them back on to the right path:
As far as I’m concerned, and I think as far as most kids go, once religion sinks in, it stays there—deep down.
Ruth was so devout throughout his life that he and his first wife (also a Catholic) never divorced despite being separated for three years before her death–on account of the Catholic Church’s stance on divorce.
“Hell no! I’m a Democrat!” Unless the price is right
Ruth was a Democrat. We know that because he said so when Republican Warren G. Harding, running for president in 1920, asked for Ruth’s endorsement. Ruth replied:
Hell, no, I’m a Democrat.
Ruth did actively campaign for one presidential candidate, Democrat Al Smith in 1928. He gave speeches, made appearances and endorsed the candidate on the radio.
Beyond that, Ruth was, however inadvertently, party to at least one important political movement. In 1915, when the Suffrage movement was lobbying hard for the women’s vote, they offered to pay Boston Red Sox players for each home run they hit at Fenway Park in a public relations scheme for their cause. The Sultan of Swat hit one home run in Boston that year, collected his money and backhandedly endorsed the Suffrage movement.
That’s about the extent of the Great Bambino’s political involvement. One could argue that he was an American hero, a role model for the American Dream, proof positive that every poor kid in America, with talent and hard work, could grow up to be a legend. Ruth was instrumental in reinforcing that unique “American-ness” of baseball as well. In fact, he made it his mission:
I won’t be happy until we have every boy in America between the ages of six and sixteen wearing a glove and swinging a bat.
Yes, the Babe was a conservative. Proving that hard work and diligence can get you out of poverty! And for 4grand, he endorsed Harding! The Babe was a capitalist! Now quit trying to dodge the subject. Admit the Democrats have been destroyed during Obamas tenure as POTUS.
Damn Bambino I just noticed you have 9,650 posts, you must be a very sensitive person to care enough to write 9,650 posts. I am starting to think you might be a closet liberal that just hasn't come out yet. I am starting to like you and think that by the next election you will be out of the closet!
