Providers want references I mean what do you tell them? Oh yeah I did this provider or that provider. Still learning the ropes

They are looking for a provider you have seen that will vouch for you. All you need to send them is the ECCIE link to their profile, or some other contact information for the provider.

Also in my experience it is also helpful to notify the provider that you are using as a reference a heads up that you have used them as a reference.
