Popular vote. Too bad the election isn't based on that. If it were, the only campaigning that would be done would be in high population areas and it wouldn't represent the country. Take away California and New York and see where that leaves you with the "popular" vote

Again not true. Trump had less support from Republicans than Clinton did from Democrats. He rarely won a primary with 50% of the vote. I have been a lifelong Republican, having voted for every Republican nominee until Obama. I simply did not believe in Trump. I still do not but hope that I am wrong. Many people saw through Trump's act and voted against him. So far his nominees for cabinet and other government posts have been less than stellar in my opinion, but since Trump has to work with them it is his prerogative to name whomever he wants.

If you're referring to my post, please re-read it. I made it very clear that popular vote does not matter. But if an election is determined by popular vote, it doesn't matter where those votes come from, only that they matter. Where was the campaigning done in this year's election? In every state? No! How often did the Presidential candidates visit states like Hawaii, Alaska, Nebraska, Wyoming, N and S Dakota, etc.? Even California, Texas, and N.Y.? Maybe a token visit. Why? These states were not up for grabs. The states visited most often were those in doubt -- Florida, Ohio, N. Carolina, Virginia, and a handful of others. If we moved to a popular vote system, which I am not proposing, a handful of states again would be visited most often, only they would be different states.

Well, the electoral college sealed his Presidency and it was so cool that Texas pushed him over the high mark. While Hillary actually lost more electoral votes than Trump did. They voted for Powell.And I don't think he has an "act" - really - what you see is what you get with the Trump. I just can't wait till Obama is out - only 36 days to go.

I would also be interested in reading the RNC emails over the last 18 months, I'm sure their behavior was impeccable. If you favor one party over the other blindly, you are taking this country down.

You can bet your ass that the RNC was conspiring against Trump....Much like the DNC was conspiring against Bernie

Too bad Obama waited 7 years and 11 months to feign outrage...Methinks that he and the DNC thought they had the election in the bag....

I'm sure there were some RNC guys who wanted to stop Trump by fair means or foul, but Reince Priebus didn't allow any major changes to the party, primary or convention rules - which he laid down long before Trump decided to run.

He beat 16 Democrats.....and nobody gave him a chance...they said he was not conservative enough...he was a punch line right until the very end......they "rigged" the Colorado primary and gave all the delegates to Cruz.....they finally came to there senses and realized that there was no stopping the Trump Train.....they were very slow to jump on the bandwagon and some never did....

Time will tell. So far his nominees for the cabinet and other posts have been, for the most part, less than impressive in my opinion.

I'd say his cabinet selections have been consistent with his lack of understanding of government.

Can the United States conduct business if it's infrastructure is in the hands of inexperienced rich guys?

But I, like you, Speedy, am pulling for Drumpf to succeed. He's gonna be the president. I, like most Americans, didn't vote for him. But I'm praying for him to succeed. Or at least not fuck everything up.

That said, I'm not placing the bar for him any lower than I have for any other president, or higher, like the loyal opposition did for President Obama. If we don't demand the highest possible levels of wisdom, leadership, ethics and judgment from our president, we'll get whatever he gives us.

The big challenge is making Congress do its job. They're on a tight schedule after 6 years off. Time for these public servants to earn their ridiculous salaries.
