Another Benghazi Thread

Turns out a rescue team was on its way to to Benghazi but were ordered to turn back by the CIC. They were on schedule and could have saved two of the four killed. They would have arrived in time. Obama and Hillary lied. Why isn't she 50 points behind? This is inexcusable!

To fly armed troops into a country you need permission from the country. Unless you are invading it.

Not true. We did not invade Pakistan when we got Bin Laden and we did not get permission.

We will ask for permission and the host nation may decline. If we do not feel the host nation can adequately protect American personnel, we can invade or just enter the country and evacuate. Of course we run the risk of engagement with host nation personnel and civilians. The decision is based on the importance of the personnel and the degree of risk.

According to an old friend who was involved in the aborted rescue, the primary mission of the state department was to destroy documentation. The scrub of information began almost immediately.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say with this post. The link says there was a delay and 4 uniform changes but the changes were not the reason for the delay. (So Hannity was wrong. What else is new?) Still, there was an unnecessary delay.

The Ranger Paronto's statement that they were told to "wait" and later "stand down" was only a matter of semantics does not directly mean both commands meant the same thing. I believe he is suggesting that the order to "wait" (probably actually "stand by") was only given because someone in the chain of command knew that they would eventually stand down. The end result was the same. (Basically it meant "stand by while we confirm that we will stand down").

There should have been only 1 investigation. Unfortunately, these types of investigations always blame the lowest ranking person possible. The people actually responsible will almost always get away with it.
I know your suggestion of an investigation was meant to be facetious but, people died. It is not funny.

And the FBI had no problem with Hillary deleting thousands of emails after a subpoena.

And the Justice Department found no obstruction of justice.

I don't find it shocking that committee failed to find any wrongdoing. If they had found something, who would they have blamed it on? The safety and security of State Dept employees rests with the Secretary of State (who, in this case, is at all times blameless).

The only thing I am shocked by is America's ability to look the other way.

One of the rescue teams was already in the country and armed. The CIA annex had armed team members that were ordered to stand down. Your assertion holds no water Eva. Of course you're putting this on Obama, begin the impeachment proceedings.
