Default Lease Agreement Troubles (advice appreciated)

I moved into a new place recently and there is an ongoing issue which was not disclosed prior to move in. A bit of a pest control issue. They have attempted to correct the issue but it isn't fixable for a multitude of reasons. (Hoarder in the apartment next door, older building, long term issue etc)
I'd like out of my lease, all money refunded and my moving cost covered.
The property management company would like me to pay them $3900 to break my lease and to pay me nothing for my trouble. Safe to say we're at a standstill. I would love advice from qualified individuals (or anyone who has found themselves in a similar situation) and possible trade for representation from attorney currently practicing within this scope - thank you!!

call your city inspectors multi family division....and file a complaint, then hit Yelp, Google reviews....and post pics....good ones....the squeaky wheel gets the grease.....look for the numerous apt review sites and blast every one with pics......find a lawyer to send a registered letter, even if it costs a few hundred.....let them know you are not the one to mess with......make some phone calls to local media problem solvers, most local tv channels have them
I had a bad landlord once that was a prominent doctor, but he was a jerk, long story short he paid me 2500 to move and forgave 1800 back rent and this was before all the social media outlets available today.....because i was in the right and i know how to be a world class pain in the ass when i need to

I would also leave asap.. if you hang around, it may be assumed (by them and by a later Court) that the premises were habitable. forget about a refund or moving costs.. at best you can walk away now, and avoid lease-breaking liability.

if she just walks away a court will award that 3900 to her landlord quicker than making a bowl of pho.....chung, and her credit rating will be shit with a judgment like that....great advice if she wants to live at budget suites....

Yes, if I just up and leave - I would have an eviction on my credit.

All good stuff! Thank you! Ideally I'd like to have someone represent me that could do these things. That's why attorneys get paid the big bucks!

good idea here, but you're assuming it will result in quick action in her favor.. I doubt that it will.. my thinking on walking away (and having video evidence like this) is that the Landlord will let it go and not fight in Court.. for $3900?

what if your idea doesn't work right away? then what?

you suck it up and seek legal redress....and document every little inconvenience....and eventually you'll be compensated
and buy some raid ETC.....bugs aren't the worst things in the world.....that would be bed bugs.....you suffer a little and document it and a jury will make it right Dallas has the biggest group of slumlords.....tow your car, fees for this and that.....they take advantage of renters like no place I've ever seen

probably good advice.. I was just thinking along the lines of a quicker exit, but in reality she will have to tough it out..

if you have any proof of income there are attorneys that work on a sliding scale, even pro bono...don't be a victim Shea posted a great resource, and blast away on social media...and approach the real media....like Saul Garza @fox4........
