I would stay at hotel Amastad, $90 a night and tica friendly. I also includes 3 meals and open bar on all domestic drinks. I is 250 yards from the Sportsman and 3 dollar cab ride to the Del Ray. The rooms are not fancy but do the trick, just ask for a room away from the train tracks.

Definitely listen to what Dfrm65 tells you. Just got back from CR and had a blast!!! Managed to meet up for drinks and got to hang out with him for a while. If you want to travel in style, he has a lot of connections. If you're staying in Jaco, I think that he knows the management of the luxury Monaco Condos and can get you a deal if you let him know in advance.

I stayed in both San Jose and Jaco this trip to Costa Rica. Besides the weather and temperature of San Jose, I'd prefer Jaco's atmosphere and location. There are tons of things to do during the daytime, like zip lining and white water rafting etc., that are mostly located nearby Jaco. You can chill on the beach night and day in between adventures and the ladies. The beach is also the only place that I know for sure that you are legally allowed to smoke freely. For those who fear that there is not enough action ladies-wise during the day, just call this Spa service that I used while I was there. It's called Jaco-Spa @ +011 506 6014 6264. They always had 5-6 pretty ladies available when I was there. I have not been disappointed, so I had not used anyone else while I was there during the day. They have an english speaking appointment taker. Make sure you tell them that you want the pretty or hot ladies sent to your hotel. Reviews will be coning up shortly...Those that I can remember and actually have phone numbers for anyway LOL !!!

I am here right now. Cocal was almost as packed as feburary. way less guys though so be prepared to be the main course when you walk in. When it rains its empty which has been a few days this week. I keep getting the 150 an hour bs but havent paid more than 90 an hour. its a buyers market and the girls know it. I pulled a blonde that really is not my type but she looked like a super model, too bad the sex was boring. I knew better than to expect great service from a "stunner"

I'm heading back in 3 weeks. I use one lucky dogg for transfers and reservations. Generally good. I stay at Cocal in Jaco and Amistad for layover nights in SJO. I prefer beachfront room. Poolside can be noisy until the bar closes. Friday night is best, followed by Saturday and Sunday. In March Friday night was about 10-1 ratio. Saturday 7-1 and Sunday around the same maybe a little less. There were less guys. July gets into their holiday season so slightly less action. I used to be a DR guy and I'm still relatively new to CR, so maybe more experienced guys can chime in

August will have lots of rain. Girls will be there because they need money but don't expect it to be what its like at different times of the year. A lot of the girls from other countries come around December and leave after easter if they had a good few months.
You might be in luck though since august is the world surfing championship. Jaco should be packed.
