Hotels
Newbie here looking for some sage advice from the more experienced mongers.
So far I've only seen verified and well-reviewed providers who do incalls at private residences. Hotels make me nervous due to the sting potential. What are the "best practices" to minimize risk when seeing an incall provider at her hotel?
I'd assume that outcall at my hotel is less risky assuming a verified and well reviewed provider. Anything to watch out for there?

I'm going to quote the other guy in this thread who already has the answer to both questions:

My ECCIE Reviews

You can come see me at my private incall.
I'd say yes only go to well heeled providers and not a questionable one. It goes both ways where we all want to be safe. Reviews on the ladies and references from the guys. Hotels for a provider incall can be iffy. Unless she's travelling and otherwise has a local incall with reviews.

Oh definitely, I do a ton of research before seeing anyone, and won't even consider seeing a provider who isn't well reviewed by multiple, established forum members and preferably is on P411 too. I do phone number checks, scrutinize reviews, all of that.
The things that worry me about hotels are:
- Hotel gets suspicious and tips off LE, who come and watch the room until they have enough probable cause to intervene (if they even concern themselves with things like probable cause these days). This is my biggest concern, by far.
- LE posts an ad of an established provider on BP and change the number, then go to the incall they've set up and wait for the busts to roll in. This should be pretty easily mitigated by proper phone number research, though.
- Provider arrested, flips and helps LE. Probably not common at all but surely it has happened.

Nothing wrong with being somewhat paranoid in the hobby.
But, unless you are able to accept a reasonable amount of hobby risk, you would be better off not hobbying until you can be comfortable.

Agreed, I know there will always be an element of risk. Just looking for any tips people use to minimize it when visiting hotel incalls.

I don't have any advice, but depending on the layout of the lobby, sometimes I feel uncomfortable walking past the front desk. I always worry that a staff member at the front desk is going to say "can I help you?" It hasn't ever happened but I haven't figured out what I should say if it does. I guess I'm wondering if that has ever happened to anyone and how did they handle it? You can't say "I'm just visiting so and so because you don't actually know there real name. Or would you just say, "I'm just visiting," and walk on? Or just say "no thank you," and keep walking?

Just say no, and keep walking. If you are appropriately dressed and do not look out of place, walking like you know where you are going, no one is going to say anything. I stay in a lot of hotels, the person working the desk does not know everyone staying there, never had anyone say anything.

I often carry a bag with me. Accomplishes several functions. First, it makes me look like I belong there. Second, I have my own towel and toiletries with me in case I want to freshen up and the lady doesn't have an extra towel in the room. I also have a change of clothes, not to disguise myself, but to appear to be doing normal hotel stuff. For an outcall, you can use a drop so the lady can retrieve the key and let herself in without having to knock on your door. With a provider I trust, I once put the key card inside the gas cap door of my car and texted her a directions to where I parked. With the key, she was able to enter the hotel through a locked side door and go straight to my room.

An arrested provider doesn't even have to actually "flip" and help. If they have her phone and she already had ads queued, they can just take over.

I usually carry a computer bag and I walk in like I own the place. I often greet the clerk with a friendly "good morning" or something else that fits the time. But I agree with Unique Carpenter - verified and well reviewed ladies are going to solve a lot of your issues for you. My bigger fear is that I am going to run in to someone I know. That has not happened yet but if it does, I am there visiting an old college bud that is passing through town.

Very good point, I hadn't considered that.

I wouldn't worry about that. If the hotel needs the business, they will mind their own no matter what they suspect. If they are a little more upscale, they will NOT want a public visit by the Bad Guys - they will just tell the lady she's welcome to not come back.
One thing I do worry about at hotels (of the former variety) is security - there may be a criminal presence, so mind what you drive, what you bring, and where you park.
A far greater risk is the Bad Guys stealing a lady's identity. You can NEVER be sure whom you are talking to on the phone, or who else might be listening in. This is one reason I never give a lady "references".

A majority of my visits have been at her incall hotel. Just walk in like you belong there. I usually bring a newspaper and/or a couple bottled waters. Keep walking till you get to her room. Don't dress like a hood rat. Even jeans a a decent t shirt should not attract attention.
