Default Camera.

Maybe someone knows something about this stuff. I took pictures of the chick in my latest review with a pretty decent (compared to my usual shitty one) digital camera. After taking the pics, I could see them on the camera when I would review the pics. When I put the SD card in my laptop to transfer the pictures, they weren't on the card. I put the card back in the camera and they are there, but now when I look at them on the camera it says "Unrecognized File Format". WTF?!? "Unrecognized"? It's the same fucking camera that took the pictures!!!

Anyway, is there any way to recover the pictures or are they lost. Had one REALLY good one I was hoping to save.

Lightbulb cable?

Can you hook up a USB cable to the camera and transfer the files?
Otherwise try another computer or card reader

I'll have to try the USB cord. I'll have to see if I have one that fits. Good idea. I'll give it a try later.

What kind of SD card are you using? Some come with a card for a downloadable program. SanDisk has Rescue Pro. You can also try Image Rescue.

Probably the most important thing to remember is that those files definitely still exist on that card, so don't let the wrong person access it. There are a million different programs to convert/read file types, and you likely already have a program on your pc that can do it. Send me the card and I will get them off for you. ;-) Be aware that simply connecting via a USB cable probably won't work as the problem is your camera is storing the files in an unrecognized file type, and it will almost certainly send them via the USB in the same unreadable format. It's an easy fix.

They're probably saved on the camera's internal memory

That, or the camera may have been set to shoot in RAW or TFF format. Your computer would need some image software installed to view them or convert them to jpegs.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try some of them out when I get a little extra time.
