Fears, fears, fears
OK. This is the second thread of the night from someone who has been dormant for awhile. That is what the end of an engagement will do. While I have not been active, and not always written a review, I have seen a number of the regular providers in Omaha over the last 5 years.
I am commenting and looking for a little advice to, at least, ease my conscience. Here is the deal:
Truly caring people want to stop Human Trafficking. So do I. The Moral Majority want me to believe that every provider out there has a gun to her head or a *Staff Edit - JCM, forcing her to provide. I don't believe that this is true, but how do I know?
I will tell you the places that I get especially nervous (and I am not trying to smear anyone or discourage any business). An example, Russian Barbie and a friend will soon be visiting. Based on prior reviews, excellent provider who is still working on her English.
Here is where my mind goes: Immigrant. Probably fairly new, due to language issues, Was she brought here and forced??? Again, I am not trying to damage this provider. I would love to see her. She just fits the stereotype of what the anti-escort movement uses to scare us.
Another example: (I am not picking on the Russians!) Some of my favorite free porn sites (Yes. I am cheap.) have started showing a number of videos from Russia or the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. While I may be naive, I tend to believe that most U.S. made porn appearing on non-underground sites is meeting the letter of the law. The girls may be young and stupid, and regret it in 6 months, but at least at the time it was filmed, they were of age and voluntarily agreed. British porn, French porn, same thing.
But when it gets to places like Russia, I get queasy. I am no world traveler, but it is easy to entertain the likelihood that performers are *Staff Edit - JCM, are not performing based on free will, may be forced by mafia or *Staff Edit - JCM. I usually shut off those videos.
I guess, to cut to the chase, the area that we play in, the world of carnal pleasures, exists outside the law. Therefore, it sits on a ledge between what is good (often VERY good) which should be legal and what is horribly bad and needs to be stamped out.
But, How Do I Know?
