Last Team Standing.....
Granted, this post could be null and void before the end of this coming weekend let alone the end of the month (Nov)......but it is something fun to kick around just the same (especially in light of this wonderful Cowboy season we're having....)
Over on the West Coast, the Golden State Warriors won their tenth game in a row (won @ Minn) last night to begin their season (10-0).....only undefeated team remaining in the NBA. Steph Curry was ridiculous (once again) knocking down 46 points (62% from the arc). This guy (and team) is on another plane altogether right now.
Curious, I looked up the record to start an NBA season undefeated and noted it's 15-0; shared by the 1948 Washington Capitols and the 1993 Houston Rockets. Can the Warriors beat that record (while going after Chicago's 72 win season from years ago)?
Their opponent's (9 teams total) Win-Loss record between now an the end of Nov is 32-43.....riddled with sub-par teams (ie: the 1-7 Kobe Lakers....1-7 Nets...2-7 Kings...). Next week they play two teams with decent records (Clippers and Raptors; both 6-3 at this juncture).....everyone else: garbage.
Can the Warriors actually run this thing to 19-0? It's possible, I suppose, given their schedule and their desire to improve on last year's performance. Time will tell, right?
And then the current NFL season comes to mind....we still have THREE undefeated teams remaining (all 3 are 8-0 going into this week's games). Teams and scheds::
New England
@NY Giants
Buff
@Den
Cincinnati
Hou
@AZ
St Lou
Carolina
@Ten
Wash
@Dal
While the three NFL teams have 1/3 the games the Warriors do, who has the best chance to be the last team standing with an unblemished record by December 1st? Personally, I like the Warriors' chances (and I am in no way betting against Brady & Pats either).
And...lastly....do the terrible 0-8 Philadelphia 76ers win their first game before the Warriors lose their first? Being they are 0-5 at home, the 76ers have already lost more games at home than the Warriors probably will ALL season (for the record, they went 39-2 at home last year.)

Even the NY knicks are looking a lot better this year with the new tall kid, The only teams I see taken out GS WITH its full rosters healthy is the cavilers and San Antonio, SC is nearly impossible to defend with his 3 point range.
I'm guessing the panthers in the Superbowl against ?

well Patriots are now 9-0 with a close win against the Giants yesterday. Carolina won against a bad titans team, I would be surprised if Cincy lost to the God awful Texans tonight but u never know in this Nfl. As for the Warriors, another win for them this past weekend. I think cincy gets taken down by a very good Cardinals team next week. While Carolina is undefeated, I think the cardnails are the most complete team in the Nfc. I think Carolina falls to Dallas on thanksgiving (yeah I said it). I love my pats but I'm also a realistic fan they won't go undefeated. I was thinking that Denver Game would be our first loss but with Manning potentially being out and Brock Osweiller starting, I highly doubt it now. Edleman being hurt will hurt but we will be ok. I'm thinking Jets will get us in New York. Warriors are really good but I wish people would stop comparing them to the 96 bulls team that won 72 games. The Nba from a talent and defensive standpoint was WAY better back then. Nowadays if u pinky touch a guy it's a foul. That being said, I think the Warriors will fall to the bulls on Nov 20th. The bulls are one of the few teams that beat them at home last year and they match up well with them.

Warriors, 18 and O, going strong. Blew that record up, for sure....
NFL: Pats and Bungles have both dropped games leaving the Panthers as football's last remaining undefeated.
And the winless 76ers (O and 18) will attempt to break this awful start when they take on the "almost-as-bad" L. A. Kobes this week. Don't ya wish ya had a ticket for that one, huh?
The Warriors have a +16 point-differential in scoring thus far....no other team is even close. They begin a lengthy road trip that won't find them back home until mid-December (7 games, I believe). They will eventually lose, of course.....the question is to whom?
Good luck, NBA......Golden State looks like they're dialed in each night. Wish every team played that way....

We can now take NE off the undefeated list. Looks like the last team that is undefeated is the Carolina Panthers...

We all know Kobe's on his Farewell Tour now (but) Gawd Awmighty!!! give it up now, dude! Now!
Last night's performance in Philly was atrocious, pitiful.....it's time to put the Air Jordan's away NOW, man.....losing to the god-awful, winless Sixers last night.....what a joke the Lakers have become. And Kobe's the Ring Master of this mess....(btw, anyone notice how beaten down coach Byron Scott looks these days? God, I hope the Lakers are paying this man plenty of ca$h to put up with this crap....)
Enough already. Leave the team....leave the NBA.....it's over, KB.

Golden State continues to tear it up....last night's victory over Houston puts them at 47-4; an all-time best pace....winning at a .922 clip.
What's amazing about this season is the one San Antonio is currently having. They are only 3.5 games back of the Warriors with an eye-popping .846 winning percentage (44-8). And both the Warriors (24-0) and Spurs (28-0) are undefeated at home. Has there ever been two undefeated teams at home this late in the same season ever? I think not....
And then there's the "out-of-the-spotlight" OK City Thunder. Sitting at 3rd place in the West; their season has been nothing to sneeze about to date: 39-14 (.736).....funny thing; that record would put them in FIRST place of the Eastern Conference....two games ahead of the Cavs.
Back to the Warriors....they play 8 of their next 10 on the road.....and plenty of those teams will be ready for GS (Clippers, Hawks, Heat, etc).
Should be interesting to see if Steph and the Boys can keep up this unprecedented clip they're on.

Yep. They will barring some major injury to steph curry. San Antonio or Okc the only real threat but I don't think they'll beat us in a 7 game series. The east is garbage Cleveland will win that by default.

Yeah, it's a 4-team race at this point; basically has been all season, I suppose......S.A. looks like the only team capable of taking down Steph and the Warriors (both teams still unblemished at home). Went to last night's Dal-OKC game and the Thunder, while good, are not great. And Cleve in the East....? As u said, unless Steph goes down to injury and misses multiple gms during the playoffs, I don't see it happening. Still....they gotta play the sched out so I guess we'll see, huh?
