Boca Chica thoughts
I found a cheap roundtrip ticket with Spirit Airlines to SDQ (Santo Domingo) and had a weekend getaway. Not enough time to really go to Sosua, so I'm in Boca Chica. This place is known as a small version of Sosua, conveniently located to SDQ (30 min).
It is true, to some extent. The beach is fairly nice and there are good restaurants. There are girls and prices might be slightly lower, although a smaller number than in Sosua and fewer hotties and virtually no Haitians. The place however is full of scammers and pickpockets. Every night I must deal with girls trying to feel me up and get their hands in my pockets. I also had one girl rob me: She pulled off my glasses and demanded payment to get them back. It is a rough place.
The street price can be as low as 1000 DOP, but 1500 DOP is usually what you can get. Most girls will try to get 2000 DOP or higher.
You can find girls walking up and down Duarte street most of the day and night. The main place is the "piano bar", where about 20-50 girls hang out from about 7PM until late. After about midnight, many freelancers move to the disco, Batey (I think I remember correctly). This is a better place, if you have the ability to stay up late.
You can occasionally find chicas walking up and down the beach, and I hear that many servers can be convinced to meet you after their work is done.
There are a few casas; that is, brothels. I visited one, so-called a dance club about a 15 min walk up from Duarte, and the quality was about the same as the street scene. I didn't negotiate price, but I hear it's about 2000 DOP per hour. My friend and I might check out one called Playboys, which is closer to the strip.
But, overall, I've had mediocre and bad experiences here in Boca Chica. I recommend you go to another mongering place.
