Finding balance between Me & you.
If you didn't know this already, we, dominants are ultimately self centered
Nuh huh, do not deny it
We are. I guess we have to be ...rule of our nature
We have to be strongly rooted in ourselves ...in order, to, strike from the place we do ...
People are counting on us ..to play a role
A strong ego is necessary
But how do you know when it goes too far
When instead of drawing people to us, we send them away
We're so internally focused we forget it's about power-sharing, not power-hungry
Luckily submissives can handle alot of neglect & abuse ...without abandoning, giving up on us ...I find this trait so special ...think about it
Always there for you
We so need each other, its crazy
Not all the time
But enough
Or we both suffer
Luckily you can only go so far on one side - unbalance, until the scale sends you back to the middle

I think it depends a lot on what kind of D/s relationship you are talking about. The 24/7 power exchange type is rare and not really a part of the lives of most people who enjoy BDSM. For most of us we dip in and out and play a fantasy role. For those of us at the receiving end we want the Dom to be egocentric and powerful.
If I were in a 24/7 lifestyle relationship my needs would be just as important as yours though. Having the desire to serve doesn't automatically make a sub some kind of doormat to be abused by a selfish Dom. As you say, it's about finding the balance, as indeed you could probably say about any relationship.

Dominant...
Not everyone is only into themselves.
I have been a Domme for over 3 DECADES.
I don't "PLAY A ROLE."
If I am not into you as a person, and not into what you are into, I don't see you.

No disrespect meant Goddess. I know that you are genuinely into the lifestyle too, but I would hazard a guess that you deal differently with one of your personal subs/slaves than you might be with some guy that you are meeting for the first time and who is more interested in fulfilling his own fantasies. Maybe not in whatever activities you choose to partake in, but in your relationship with him.

Zabrina, no offense, but I find your posts kind-of out of left field.

Your Poem Zabrina Sarafina defines me right now, thank you! I am now coming back into my inner Domme, suppressed by 23 years of marriage to a vanilla male. I have been active in the Hobby since 1982, and I am free again after 5 years or retirement from the Hobby
I wish to dance in the the BDSM Realm along with my Tantric Massage practice. I see through sites like Fet Life and Eccie, I am not alone in my practices and they all mesh.
My friend and Sub of many years is helping me to unleash my inner Domme Goddess. My Sub likes to switch, which I think will be good training for me, I need a good ass whooping, and etc. Sub tells me that learning to be a sub makes a great Mistress. I have been lonely for so many years and he fills my inner need with his submission to me and willingness to please. I am now out of the closet!
