There is a crazy client from Kansas city and now Omaha, who is using this site to make accusations using pics stolen from other social media sites

i want to sue the owner of the site thedirty.com
as well as Dave Fritz himself

he has attempted to ruin the lives of many women who he "falls in love with" and offers to take care of them
when of course they turn him down, because he is a nasty, smelly pig, he retalliates.
i believe he is dangerous in many ways
i want a lawyer...and advice please

You can ask him to remove the post but it his highly unlikely he will.

I'm NOT a lawyer but doing a little (very little) research seems to lead that you would have to sue the poster, and can't sue the website owner. If you win against the poster, thedirty will remove any comments that the courts deemed to be false, but they will probably not remove the whole post, just the lies. In the past a company I was with would remove things for people a lot easier, but thedirty is not a very nice website and my company did not allow that sort of thing anyway. Thedirty is more of a revenge type site, IMO.

Section 230(c)(1) of the 1996 Communications Decency Act provides immunity from liability for providers and users of an "interactive computer service" who publish information provided by others:

No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider.

By user in that law, they aren't talking about the poster, just any other user on the site.

Contact the owner and if he outed your real world ID or put pictures up that lead to your real identity you can probably get them taken down. I know two escorts who were outed on there and they both were able to get the posts removed.

I'm not sure how they contacted the site as I'm not close enough with either to ask about the details. I do know that they both had their real names and pictures posted and they privately contacted the owner/site and got it taken down. The one provider's stuff was probably down within a day or so after she became aware of it. My guess is that if someone contacts the site privately and requests the take down instead of publicly making a spectacle of things they have a better chance of getting things resolved in their favor.

I had a psycho ex repeatedly post about me on that site, using my real name and pics, under several different user names(you can put any name you want when you post, you do not have to sign up or create an account) Several years later, the posts are still up, after I repeatedly asked Mr Richie to remove them. I'm still dealing with the aftermath that resulted from this

It depends on which state at the moment. More of them are pushing through 'revenge porn' laws that will address and curb such vicious sites.

Total coverage laws are making it absolutely illegal to post/host revenge porn (includes harassment, defamation, cyber stalking, etc).


26 states are currently on the list. Expect more to follow like dominos soon.

Sadly this site ruined at least two ladies in Ohio that I know of. Photos, lies, half-truths. One lost her job and the other her kids. Both went after the site, neither was successful. SW Ohio in particular is a weird place, part fire and brimstone moralists--including the police chief--and part Kentucky hillbilly.
