the people that ran from the vehicle, except for the driver must be illegals.. no reason for them to run otherwise, unless they had warrants.. driver could be illegal, no insurance, no current tags, warrants.. lots of things.

another consideration.. Texas is an at-fault state, we don't have "no-fault insurance like many States, so if the driver is insured and feels he was at fault, that's another reason to run..

Maybe they were driving a stolen vehicle. Drunk driving. It has to be a huge issue going on, for them just abandoning cars like that.
