Default Do you think the Cowboys will continue

traveling to Oxnard, CA for training camp after they complete their new practice facility in Frisco, TX? Seems like that tradition is set to end.

Also, I'm visiting here and having a great time. Your selection of gals is insanely better than Nashville. Ran the Katy Trail this morning and it was awesome.

Why would it end? Practice in great weather in front of a different fan base.

Marketing baby.

I think it's pretty standard to go out of area for training camp. I think they used to do Wichita Falls way back in the day (even though that's barely out of town) if I remember correctly. Even if they quit going to Oxnard, they would find somewhere else.

Just ask Michael Irvin about WF and threats made with scissors late night in the Midwestern State dorm.

I bet once the deal with Oxnard expires they'll train exclusively at The Star.

The Cowboys are one of only 12 NFL teams that go on the road for training camp. The trend is to train where you play.

Pretty sure Jerry and Stephan Jones have said TC will continue in Oxnard for some time.

Saving the money spent taking the team to Cali, and making money from fans who want to attend practices in Frisco with an air conditioned practice facility. I think their days in Oxnard are numbered.

Actually, both Jerry and Stephen have said that 2016 in Oxnard will be the last trip west. While the team is in Oxnard, the moving vans will be busy moving Valley Ranch stuff to Frisco. When the Cowboys break camp next summer in Oxnard, they will return to Frisco.

It will be interesting to see just how the Cowboys work training camp at the Star. Valley Ranch has two full football fields and same at the River Ridge Complex in Oxnard. The Cowboys fill up both of those fields in Oxnard. The new place in Frisco also has to full football fields outdoors and the one indoor field......but I dot see how they will run training camp on just one field. I don't think any of them want to work outside in 105 or 106 temps.....

BTW, the place where they have training camp in Oxnard was originally built for the Oakland Raiders. They did camp there for many years. It is managed by Marriott's Residence Inn chain.
