Taking advantage of Review Specials...

Not that 26 reviews isnt enough but I like to give a little incentive for more reviews because i would like to keep them Current and Up to date....
That being said I am totally discouraged from running those specials because 3 times out of 5 i have had clients come for the special and Not write a review. That is pretty crummy and really defeats the entire purpose.
Some of us (providers) gain or lose weight, we get new tattoos (well not me, i still have None to date) but my point is that Guys shouldnt have to looking back on old reviews when interested in a provider, and when you Agree to write a review by accepting a certain rate...then it should be written. (Good or bad)

I Understand that people forget or for whatever reason LIFE happens (understandable) but where is the courtesy of at least letting the provider know why...?

If you dont write reviews...(have seen a few that do not) then you should not be asking for a Review Special anyways.

That's just my thoughts.... im done ranting now

If there is an agreement between two parties (provider and hobbyist), in which a gent obtains a cash discount (from the provider) for agreeing to provide a service (write a review) and the provider provides her BCD service at a reduced fee and the hobbyist does not hold up to his end of the bargain (write the review), it is a breach of contract at best or a downright THEFT by deception (if he never intended to write the review).

In either case, it is not good TCB on the hobbyist's part.

The sad thing is that the gents will write a review of a lady and bust her out in a hot second for poor TCB or BCD, etc. But if a lady complains about a specific gent, it is labeled as "board drama". SMH.

Thanks for venting and giving us a reminder. Trust me when I say this, every lady here that has offered review specials can commiserate with you. I will also say that many gents just get too busy or have poor memories, but there are a handful that have no intention of writing a review when they took your offer. Sorry this happened to you.

On the other side of the coin, there are plenty of ladies offering review specials, that have had gents pay full donation and then go ahead and write a review (without getting the discount).

Anyway, thanks for the reminder to be more respectful on one another in our little corner of the hobby world.

I totally agree that guys should uphold their side of the "review special" deals. However, I also believe that paid-for reviews are inherently unreliable. Imagine if Consumer Reports did something similar. Wouldn't that lower your trust of the reviews?

The quote above, however, is about a totally different matter. Is there an asymmetry in terms of "gents" reviewing "ladies" versus vice versa? *Of course* there is, and it's totally legitimate and obvious. The guys are paying the gals for a service. The relationship is asymmetric from the get go.

That doesn't mean guys are free to rip girls off or abuse them. Of course not. But we understand that reviews of restaurants get published, but restaurants do not publish reviews of their customers. Same thing here.

If providers expect the relationship to be entirely symmetric, a good start would be to not charge. Until then, and short of serious wrongdoing that is alert-worthy, expect to run a business and all that entails in terms of dealing with the public and keeping complaints about customers to yourself.

This has happened to me several times while traveling in S/A and Austin. Nothing can be done if they don't leave a review. It sucks but it makes me no longer want to give review specials.

I used to do review specials and I would tell them that after they would see me they can come back for the discounted rate. That seemed to work pretty well. I stopped doing review specials after i hit number 10 I believe. It just wasn't worth it. I find that most gents will pay the full amount and write a great review. My last 5 I didn't even ask for a review; they just did it themselves.
Hang in there, I know its slow.
