A real story...I get a text from a business owner interested in an overnight B&B experience. Books for tonight. After screening, real name (first & last which I did not ask for), age, white and even gave me business name (on Courthouse Rd Gulfport), website and facebook page. All checked out...so we get into pricing, details of the evening, and even his favorite adult beverages...I ask him to call today to confirm because I had already turned down 2 requests for the same time slot. He said he would. The yellow, not red flag, was the number he was texting from was not the "work" #. No biggie, I thought. I call both #'s today to see if I could get him on the phone...even a text, nothing, no reply.
Moral of the story: whoever this # is was using this fella's real info to make me believe I had an appointment which in return would make me suspicious and annoyed at this specific business/business owner. I have no intentions of pursuing this; however, the "caller" either had something on or against this fella or was just messing (to put it nicely) with me. I just think business owners are almost targets anymore, scary stuff. If it wasn't me and perhaps did this with other local women, who could be pissed, or have a pimp approach this fella for standing someone up and he might not even have a clue about the whole situation. Luckily I did not give enough info about me except my website, which he said he subscribed to and a general location, but nothing more so it leads me more to believe that he wasn't targeting me as much as that particular business owner.
Any thoughts or similar stories welcomed on this thread. Hopefully this had nothing to do with an Eccie member as he said he was a "newbie". If it really was the "business owner" and all of this was real he is a NCNS; however, it'd be a really stupid thing for it to be really him and do that and give all that personal info. Don't you agree?
