Patrol cops - put up with a lot of bullshit like domestic violence where the female's boyfriend/husband/baby daddy I/II/III/IV want his ass arrested but then drop charges, cause he's misunderstood,/doesn't really mean it/really loves her...and then she may even get pissed off when they arrest the jerk and she starts fighting the cops.
Vice - gotta keep their numbers up somehow, but mostly driven by politics/city council that has to answer complaints and street walkers, corner dealers, massage parlors.
Detectives - good ones do it for the hunt, bad ones do it for plain clothes and not having to live in a patrol car or work vice.
Then you got Politicos - they ones that love shiny uniforms and politics and perceived power.
Which ever one you point a finger at is doing a job that needs doing and you didn't want to do as a young man or woman, and are too out of shape to do now.
Are all cops trustworthy? I don't know all of the cops.
When I have had dealings with cops, my being on one side of the line or the other, I've been treated respectfully and I in turn, reciprocated the respect.
They do a job that I don't want to do, nor am I qualified to do it.
