At the moment it's Fleming's at The Quarry, followed by Bohannan's downtown across from The Majestic. Was sad when Ounce closed at Blanco/1604 but have heard good reports about J-Prime, which took its place in the same location. The service at Fleming's is superb.

Josephine Street Steakhouse just off Broadway North of downtown. Tuesday's they have an additional discount too.
Good Time Charley's on Broadway not too bad either.

I was very disappointed with J-Prime. Everything was perfect until they cooked my rare steak medium-rare and my companion's medium-rare steak came out medium. Big fail.
Flemmings is indeed excellent, but not on special occasions, as they get overwhelmed and the quality decreases.

one of the best NY Strip steaks Ive ever had anywhere was at J Alexanders in Houston last Sat. Cant speak for the one here but thinking it cant be far off. Flemings is excellent. Stay away from the Barn Door. Had the worst steak ever there for my bday last year.

Honestly, one of my favorite places is Chama Gaucha. It's not a traditional steakhouse but the service is amazing.

Longhorn Steakhouse.
Texas Roadhouse.
Logan's.
Sorry Flemming's did not live up to your expectations, Camille. I have been there once but it was a very enjoyable time with a very enjoyable meal.

Kirbys in Stone Oak is good. Sometimes I just get appetizers at the bar and listen to the live music. Never had a bad steak there but it can be pricy.

Lately, it just seems I can buy / grill a better steak then I can find when going out. Last placed I tried was Texas Roadhouse and it was "ok"...

With any Brazilian steakhouse, make sure you get your sexy on BEFORE you eat there, because it is sure to cockblock you...
