Default MO legislation that could make BP and ECCIE go away

Under the auspices of sex trafficking, the bill will send the advertising site owners to pen for 5 years

Yea, that happens a lot with me.

I 100% agree to the felony parts of sex trafficking, especially of minors, but isn't that part already covered under federal and international laws?

The date for the Missouri 96th session was 2011, 4 years ago. Bills die if they are not passed during the session in which that are introduced according to our government class in high school.

Ok, so move the website server 10 min west to KS. MO people will still access it. And what if the owners of the site don't live in MO. Isnt ECCIE a national website. BP MAYBE could be shut down, but could still move servers to KS. Evenb though it isnt taxable, just anothewr example of MO sending one more business to KS/IL...like strip clubs and soccer teams and race tracks.

Mizzou: Wrong reference, yours is from 2011.
JR: The 2011 didn't die, the Governor signed it July 12, 2011
Final version of House Bill 214 -2011 in this link:
https://legiscan.com/MO/text/HB214/2011

However, in the current (98th) session, House Bill 152 - 2015 has been proposed that could add "advertising" to the already existing statue. BTW, it's expected to pass.
http://www.house.mo.gov/billsummary.aspx?bill=HB152

And it's this HB 152 - 2105 that's in the news.

Come on guys, do your research, all laws are public record.
This took me just under four minutes.

Binks, a Statey likes to have their own laws so they can actually do something if the Feds think it's not worth a Fed effort.

And ECCIE went to new servers this morning.

This bill was passed into law in 2011. This is about new amendments to expand the bill. Mostly dealing with definitions.

This bill adds more specific items related to sex trafficking of minors. I don't see anything that would put bp or eccie specifically at risk.

The proposed change in the law does not have anything to do with where their severs or business are located. If your site is found to have ads from underage or trafficked girls, you will be prosecuted. Does not matter where your servers or business is located. If your site is available in MO, you will be in violation of this law. I have no idea about BP, but I don't think the owners of this site want revenue from traffickers of underage girls. This change in the law will open them up to a liability if they sneak through the site's screening process. So ECCIE will have to make a business decision if they are willing to take on that liability or cease operations concerning MO

If ever and everything is possible.
Would it have to be proven as a "willful" action before anything really matters? Do laws in place already cover this or what's new?
Would someone already have been found guilty of such things as to be able to proceed into even thinking of arresting said owners?

Frankie:
Go to the 2nd link in my above post. Then click on the "Bill text" pdf. Note the highlighted words which are only advertising. The underage stuff in bill previously exsisted.
For all, note that there's a fed law about bulletin board or news board operators not being liable for content posted by users. However there's aspects of that fed law that behooves board operators to make sure stuff is within certain rules.
For example, this is why BP does work with the doughnut squad if there's any hint of age, or trafficking, issues.
Last, as a follow-up to buffman's comment above: If someone previously has a "file" that would interest a fed or a staty, it's simply best to be doing something else.

Sorry,

I did not go any further than to read his statement that the document he referenced was 2011. He was saying that the 2011 bill was going to be passed in 2015. Wrong reference, he should have referenced the current bill or amendment.

Google "MO trafficking bill" and the news stories will come up and you can view them and form your own opinion. I did post the wrong link to the actual bill. I don't think it is a trivial thing if a state legislature takes the time and effort to pass a law aimed at BP. Just thought it was newsworthy for this forum.
