you guys are giving Garrett a pass, because of a wild notion the game was not sewed up, untill no time was left on the clock? with an 11 point lead?
that is hyperbole run amok..
even if the game was not sewed up, Murray was run ragged, and it showed.. he did nothing the final quarter.. 12 runs of zero or less yards.. his ass should have been out of the game regardless of the Eagles chances in the final minutes..
Luck will get his TD passes.. the trick is countering that with enough offense to outscore Indianapolis..

Chung...your point is taken. But is there anything anyone can do to change it?? If you keep harping on it, you are just going to sound like the little shepherd that that kept hollering wolf. Jerry Jones sure isn't upset, he announced today that Garrett will be back. And he is the only one that matters.
As far as Indy....They are playing terrible at the end of the season. terrible injuries for them this year. Luck only threw for 187 yards and 17 points last Sunday against Houston. They have NO running game. Their leading rusher this year is on IR. As a matter of fact, Luck has been the leading rusher in 2 of the last 5 games.......one for 15 yards and 37 in the other. Last Sunday against Houston, only 65 yards rushing. They have won their division. Their leading receiver messed up his hamstring, so they have said they will probably rest him for the playoffs.
Indy is only 2-4 against teams with winning records this year. They beat the Bengals and the Ravens and lost to the Broncos, Eagles Patriots and Steelers. They are currently 3rd seed in the AFC at 10-4. If they split with Dallas/Tennessee, that leaves them at 11-5. One of those 3 teams in the AFC north would have to win out to tie them, and Indy holds the tie breaker over two of those teams. If Pitt is the division winner, it only drops Indy to 4th. So I ask you, what is Indy really plying for???
Philly plays on Sat afternoon at about 3:30. The Cowboys will know before they go to bed Sat night what the outcome is to that game. They may even check into their hotel early so everyone can watch the game, I just don't know the team schedule for home games.
As far as Murray is concerned, I really hope they don't play him. I would like to see him have an honest chance to break Emmitt's record. If he plays next week at Washington, they certainly will try to hurt it worse. So maybe they let Josh Randal start and do about 3 series and see how Indy is playing and to let the O Line soften the up. Then let Demarco have a chance IF he is okay to play.

All good points, Papa, per your analysis of the Indy Colts. Now that they've qualified (for the playoffs), the normal human reaction is to let up especially if you can't improve your lot going forward. Luck will come in wanting to beat the Cowboys but will he have enough (healthy) starters around him to make it so?
The Colts have shown the world the past 2 weeks they're just dying to be beaten and one....one thing the Cowboys have going for them that neither the Browns nor the Texans have in place is a stable QB that can make plays when the game is on the line.
Personally, I kind of wonder if the ankle injury to Doug Free is more detrimental to the Cowboys' running game than missing Murray for a game or two? Parnell is not the O-lineman Free is and it shows every time he's in the line up.
Though the body of work isn't much, we've all seen Joseph Randall take a handoff and hit the hole much quicker (and take it to the house as he did vs the Jags) than Murray does. If Free and Martin can get past their injuries, I think a Randall / Dunbar duo will be sufficient enough to keep Luck and his offense on the sidelines.
Philly finishes the season with their final two games on the road....at Washington / at New Yrok Giants. Keep your eye on that last game....Sanchez returning to Metlife. Could be interesting.....

Never thought I would be rooting for Team Manning during the regular season, but I doubt if Washington can pull it off.
As far as the Murray issue:
a. Do we even know if Garrett was aware of the injury before the game was over? and
b. While we may have won it without him the last quarter, a loss would have effectively rendered him useless for the rest of the season anyway.

you're getting me started again daty/o, LOL... nobody knew Murray was injured untill hours after the game, not even Murray himself.. he knew he hurt a little, but did not understand the extent of his injury.. and as I said previously, Murray sucked in the 4th quarter, so we did win it without him..
I'm done dumping on the red-headed Bastard, LOL.. I will forgive his poor decision Sunday, in exchange for a win against the Colts.. put Murray in as a decoy, and fool everyone.. give him the ball just 12 times.. let Romo go head-to-head against Luck.. Dez Bryant is a bigger beast than anyone the Colts have..

Tune into sports talk radio out of Indy area this week and give a listen......it's sounding more and more like the Colts are conceding the # 1 and # 2 seeds to New England and Denver and they're readying themselves for week one of the playoffs.
That means they have the luxury of resting key players (those that are in particular nursing nagging injuries)....get them healthy and be in as good of shape to face a Pittsburgh...a Baltimore....or whomever comes to town that first week of the playoffs).
No matter who takes the field this Sunday for the Colts, Dallas needs to take care of their own business....look at this as if it's a playoff (or play IN) game. Can't afford a slip up with the Iggles counting on us losing this game (since it's a Cowboy "home" game).

I saw a story where the Colts' Coach said they would go all out against the Cowboys, that they wanted to find out where they stand as a team.. no resting anybody, but trying hard to win and correct recent problems while doing so..
that may be just talk.. if I was in charge, I would rest the key players for this game..

Question for the crew.............
If the Cowboys, Seahawks and Packers all win out........what will the playoff seating be for the NFC?

1. Seattle
2. Green Bay
3. Dallas
Even though all 3 would tie (12-4), the tiebreaker would be conference record, Seattle 10-2, Green Bay 9-3, Dallas 8-4. After Dallas gets the #3, the tiebreak scenario starts over between Seattle and Green Bay, and Seattle beat Green Bay in their head to head matchup, so Seattle gets #1 and Green Bay #2. BTW, Seattle would get the division over Arizona based on head to head sweep IF Seattle beats Arizona Sunday. If Arizona wins out, they get the West Division and the #1 seed and the Seattle gets the #5 seed.
That loss against the Redskins on MNF really hurt the Cowboys at getting a bye week should they win the division.
If Green Bay loses to Detroit while Seattle and Dallas win out, Dallas would be the #1 seed based on head to head meeting, but Detroit would also have to lose to Chicago next week, or the scenario is the same, but with Detroit at #2 instead of Green Bay, again based on conference record, and the tie break that would put Seattle at #1 is record against common opponents, Seattle 4-0, Detroit 3-2.

I detest it when play-by-play announcers (over-use) the cliche' : "That such-and-such play / loss might come back to haunt them (later in the game / later in the season)". That said, nothing could be more true than the case of Dallas botching that game to a piss-poor team like the Redskins....that loss is going to cost them plenty should they win the NFC East.
Looking back (on that game), sure, Romo got knocked out (back injury) and Colt McCoy put on a show for the ages (especially on that overtime winning drive) but that loss was mostly on Garrett and his offensive coaches(looking improperly prepared all evening long for Jim Haslett's linebacker red dog twists, gap blitzes, etc all night long.)
Moreso than getting that coveted first round Bye, I think having to go on the road to either (higher seeds) Seattle or Green Bay next month is a huge disadvantage to any visiting team.
True dat, the Cowboys beat the Seahawks on their turf earlier this season but that was light years ago; you have to take into account Seattle looks a lot different today than they did 2+ months ago. And do we have to get started on what Green Bay, Wisconsin looks like on a chilly afternoon in January?

Well it is December and the Cowboys are 2-0...........not the usual December crash and burn.
Looks like Philly will get the December swoon award in the NFC East this year. I almost feel sorry for them.................NOT. A week ago when they woke up on Sunday, the were leading the Division by basically a game with 3 to go. They could go to sleep tonight 2 games back and completely out of the playoffs.
It was just a matter of time till Sanchez did what he is so good about and that is ruining a teams chances to make the playoffs......that is why the Jets finally got rid of him.

Just one more scenario..........
What if............
1) Dallas wins out and ends up 12-4
2) Seattle wins out and ends up at 12-4
3) Arizona splits and ends up at 12-4
4) Green wins today and ties Detroit and ends up 11-4-1
5) Detroit wins today and then ties Green Bay and ends up 11-4-1
How would the teams be seated for the playoffs
1)
2)
3)
4) NFC south winner
5)
6)
Wouldn't it be.......
1) Dallas
2) Seattle
3) Detroit
4) NFC South
5) Arizona
6) Green Bay

I don't know if the Colts just said "Fuck it, we won our division anyway. Why play hard and get people hurt?"
Dallas is blowing them out right now! 28-0 in the 2nd quarter.
