It really depends from issue to issue. Some issues are of course very polarizing, such as abortion or religion. Others, such as legalization of marijuana or prostitution (especially here!) will give you a more diverse set of opinions. In Texas, since we are generally on the more politically conservative side of things, you can expect to have less of a gradient among the overall political spectrum (disregarding the large urban areas, of course). That being said, even on the more conservative end, you have moderate Republicans, Tea Party members, and Libertarians as examples of major positions on that side.
