Private Security Firm Refusing To Licence Its Employees, Any Way To Resolve This ?

I paid serious money for a package that would make me a fully licenced and certified commissioned guard as a second income, got picked up by a company that apparently won't give its employees their pocket cards or list them on the DPS website. The certification I got for it all is temporary and has an expiration date that's approaching very soon. Only a handful of guards I've worked with have this card, all thru other companies. According to other guards this is a common practice with the company to keep its guards in a chokehold of sorts simply because it is a struggling and small company people are constantly leaving . No one wants to work there but have to because other companies won't take us without an elligible pocket card. Don't know if this is worth mentioning but they're also employing guards who wouldn't be elligible to be licenced anyways and paying them under the table. Getting sick of this, tried going elsewhere, but they won't take me since I don't have that card. How do I politely but firmly get them to give me my damn licence ?

I'm confused by your post because of its wealth of indefinite pronouns. Is your dispute with the company that provided you training to apply for a guard's license, or with another company that employs you? PLEASE BE CLEAR. Also, regarding the company you have a dispute with, do you have a written contract with that company? If yes, what does the contract say about the company's obligation to help you obtain a guard's license?

You need to call dps and see if they even sent the info, they control the PSB and you can complain there. But first you can go online and see if you're listed in the database. This is public information all you need is your name. Your status will be listed if the info has been sent. If you're listed as "active" you can print out that info go to a new company and get a replacement card.
