taken a trip soon to austin location location

hello if any one got good tips or info on locations in Austin were to stay a weekend with no problems or areas. good hotels motels please let me know. just looking for a good location. thanks

NW Austin area, aka Domain/Arboretum. Roughly the area around the U.S. 183 and Loop 1 (aka Mopac) area is generally good. Pick a place around there, but I wouldn't go east of Braker for a hotel.
Avoid the I-35 & Rundberg area at all costs, that's a known high problem area under heavy surveillance by LE.
Some others might suggest the area bounded by I-35/183/290 highways, but I don't have enough experience there to recommend it or not.
There is a sticky on this forum with an agreed-upon map of the area that you might want to check out.

Just remember this weekend is ACL, Next weekend is ACL and a home football game.
