Perception of others is generally surprising once you get to know others...I grew up on a military base and encountered many others. I've got no problem with others of a different color. I've learned to try to not judge others by appearance early on till I have a reason.

I think its not only perception but also how we treat others. As long as we are respectful, normally we get it in return, no matter what the race of the person is.
If a black man (or any other race) makes an appt and drives to the lady there is a certain expectation. If they're given an attitude at the door, then its stressful.
Maybe part of screening process should be to ask race before setting an appt that way there are no chances, unless the guy lies.
I'm color blind yet will sometimes ask race, age and approx body type before or after setting an appt, but that is only so I have a general idea who to escape. None of those are deal breakers for me seeing a guy, but they could be for some.

as a animal, we are constantly judging what is safe and what is unsafe. Do you smell milk before you drink it? do you eat red berries off any bush just cause they look yummy?
use common sense.
Colorblind? are you a judge, in a courtroom with armed guards? or are you out trying to deal with the real word and al the good and bad in that world?
So if a guy was nice to you and paid you well, but had Kaposi’s sarcoma lesions n his face, you'd still see him cause you are "colorblind" and dont judge by appearance?

Stats can be twisted in a lot of ways. Blacks are arrested more because of the perception of violence and primitiveness from media and stuff so law enforcement looks at them more...The worst kind of criminal to me is a white collar one who can effect hundreds of lives through Ponzi schemes, embezzlement etc etc but they are given little sweetheart sentences. but because of the perception of not being violent they get lighter sentences.
