The average hobbyist and other stereotypes

Some believe the average hobbyist aka John aka Trick is some dirty old man 50+ lurking in a parking lot or cruising the streets looking for a hooker.

I have found that the average hobbyist is a middle age guy of middle to higher class.

So for the guys, what age category and class do you fall into?

And ladies, society thinks we are all uneducated, drugged out useless hookers walking the streets, daddy issues, and history of abuse. I get pretty offended when someone implies it.

So ladies, where are you on the pole? I dont know of any street walkers here, or drug addicts. So how normal are the chicas? I have a very normal life, family, work, and so on.

So for those fucktards making all the ASSumptions, put that in your juice box and SUCK IT!!

I may just be a redneck honkeytonk woman from Texas...BUT I am far from dumb/strung out on drugs/and unhealthy! In fact,I am proud of my reputation and stature in this hobby world! I worked hard to overcome some hurdles from my childhood and came out on top! I make a very good living and care about what I do!!

Most of my gents are blue collar men 50 or older who just want a little "extraciricular fun" in their lifes.

Yep 50's blue collar guy here been hobbying about 14 years. Married and had a girl friend but she was wanting too much of my time. Plus I like the variety of ladies in the hobby, sometimes I like blondes other days a redhead or a brunette.

For a college educated woman, it took me a long ass time to figure out I was doing it wrong! My first date in the hobby, I was as nervous as a virgin on prom night. Now, I throw my man down and ride him like he is a wild stallion! Giddy UP!

Early 30's here with a family and salary job. SO has medical issues and can't do what I enjoy sometimes. I got into the hobby to keep from getting a clingy gf. And I'm with weebbadd, I like the variety and spice of the hobby.

I also can't stand the stigma, but those uptight repressed men and women of the world always want to say that sexuality more clearly expressed (and attended to) than their own is the symptom of some kind of personal defect or trauma - As if healthy people don't like sex!

Myself, I'm a college graduate and post graduate, and still participate in professional life. This is my dirty little secret Anyone who thinks that variety can only be the spice of a *man's* life has certainly never met a female libertine such as myself! Civilian hookups are vastly overrated, and usually come with less than half as much satisfaction and at least four times more drama.

My dates are usually in the same boat - career minded, not in the mood to deal with a cumbersome relationship, and intensely libidinous

I think, I am the young girl, everyone think has the most exciting life. Most guys think I am dating someone or always asked out. People think I am that girl with lots of friends who's always out and about, but honestly that's not going on and I'm a simple young lady. I love being at home. I'm a action/drama movie junkie, who enjoys behaviorial analysis shows, political thrillers and The Style Network(which should return this October).

I am educated in many things, very tech savvy and athletic.

Oh and I've never done any drugs ever or even smoked a cigarette for that matter, and I have no interest in either. lol

But I think in this day, the typical "hooker" ain't so typical

I read a study that interviewed johns and hookers that were arrested and the questions were asked at processing. They came to the conclusion that the majority of those who participate in prostitution are of low class and low moral standards. I forget the number but I recall it being in the 90%. I do not believe this to be true. Then again, I have never lived on the streets or worked there. I would like to see a "REAL" study done, not one that is biased.

Well that's not much of a shock considering those stats are from probably mostly streetwalkers and their clients. Did the article mention that the figured included men that paid higher end escorts? If it did then it was bullshit bc LE busts more street/BP level than higher end that screens.
Most people I've encountered that had an opinion of escorts tend to think that they're for rich business men and politicians that take trips to Vegas and cost thousands of dollars for an hr. Some are oblivious to the fact that there's escorts working in 3 to 5 star hotels in every city charging anywhere from 150 to 300 for an hr. But hey, what moral/Christian society doesn't know won't hurt them and us in this industry.

But yeah I'm in my early 30s and have the stamina and libido of an 18 yr old. I can go multiple rounds for hours. I read that you like guys in their early 30s Chella. That profile pic is sexy. Trust me, an evening with me and you wouldn't be typing away in the Coed section for a while.

I'm in my mid 30's and a salaried professional. Never married and no kids. I hobby because I rarely find someone that I'm interested in dating but I don't hobby when I am dating someone. I usually am met with surprise when a provider first sees me because most people guess my age to be mid 20's. I've regularly been told that I'm not the typical hobbyist, whatever that means.

I agree J, the study is bullshit. Unless someone has walked in the shoes, they are unable to relate or get the real truth. This is a pretty closed group and not like honesty would take place outside of the hobby circle.
