forum format

just curious....

I clicked on the louisiana link.

noticed that the louisiana forum listing is the same as the new orleans forum listing.

I would have thought that the louisiana link would give a list of cities.

It just includes the new orleans link
the forum lists that is in the new orleans link (duplicate)
the forum list for shreveport/bossier city.

what gives?

I don't quite understand what you mean.

There are only 2 sub-forums for LA, NOLA and Shreveport/Bossier City. Clicking on the LA link shows the NOLA forum at the top and scrolling down shows the Shreveport forum. There are no other LA areas.

You can click on the first NOLA link and it brings you to the NOLA forum only. Scroll down to Shreveport and click on that link and it brings you to that forum only. Or view everything in the state on one page, as shown via the LA link.

I wasn't very clear it seems. part of that was I didn't notice Shreveport/Bossier had its own link in addition to its forum listings.

my point being why was it set up this way to have:

- New Orleans Link
- a listing of all New Orleans forums

-Shreveport/Bossier Link
-a listing of all Shreveport/Bossier forums.

the Sub-Forum does not include the other 4 cities.

Wouldn't it be less complicated to Just list the New Orleans & Shreveport/Bossier as the main link without having to include all the forums for both cities?

The sub-Forum section should include Baton Rouge, Houma, Laffy, & Lake Charles advertisment forums.

All muti-city state forums are set up the same way. The State link is set up to view all the forums/categories for the whole state to be viewed at one time instead of going city by city. It's further broken down/linked by city/region for those who don't care about the whole state, just their region. Since the other LA cities only have one part, the ad sections only and no discussion forums, they are not technically forums therefore there is no sub-forum for those locations and they are grouped with NOLA as a region, not their own location/forum as they aren't big enough to have their own category.

There is also a link for provider ads at the bottom of the NOLA set and the S/B set, with the NOLA link opening up just the ad section for the 5 locations.

It's not much different than starting on the main page with all the links for all the national forums and state forums. Think of the Louisiana link as the "home page" for LA and it goes from there.

Other areas, like Texas which has forums for it's large cities and other regions like "North & East Texas" also have the same advertising breakdown for areas within that region.
