Area man re-arrested on felony stalking charges
Area man re-arrested on felony stalking charges
Posted: Feb 10, 2014 4:46 PM CST
By Antonio Hebert - email
BELLMEAD - A 68-year-old man who was out of jail on bail after being arrested for driving his car into his non-girlfriend’s house, was arrested again by Bellmead police Saturday on felony stalking charges filed by the same woman.
He has been charged with felony stalking charges and his bond was set at $100,000.
He was arrested by Bellmead police in August 2013 following an incident on Concord Rd. Police were called after he was accused of ramming a car in an incall. Police spotted him later and tried to stop him, but he ran. He worked his way back to the provider's house and crashed into it.
Police had obtained an emergency protective order, but after he bonded out, police say it had expired. The victim called police to say he was calling her, leaving notes on her car and following her to and from work.
After being warned, he was arrested on felony stalking charges.

One, everyone be safe because there is crazy on both sides of this hobby.
Two, remember that when the cops can't catch a 68 year old that means you are your own first responder. Do what you have to so that you can respond if you need too.
Three, paper edicts don't deter the criminally determined. Never have and never will so don't count on them.

it is true paper does not deter the crazies however without it the D.A. and police are limited to charges and response to some one..the more paperwork the better for the end reslut. Always trust your instinct girls!!! if it walks like a duck quacks like a duck looks like a duck it's a duck.....so wait till duck season!!! Ok inside joke butt you get the jest.

I was always told that if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's probably a sea otter!!
But then again, I'm a little bit slow.

Randi I am all for documentation to provide a robust paper trail which can be used in case of prosecution. What I am against is paper as a sole protective measure. SCOTUS ruled in Castle Rock v. Gonzales and DeShaney v Winnebago County (to name two examples) that the police specifically and the government as a whole have no responsibility to protect any singular person. Anyone who trusts their safety, especially when they have a known threat against themself, to paperwork and police response times is taking a long odds bet with their well-being and perhaps their life.
I advocate that each person make a realistic assessment of their circumstances and take an active stance in protecting themselves, both legally and physically.

sweetheart i would agree... I'm a testament to taking proactive actions to secure your own safety. I was simply stating that in conjunction with those measures one needs not to abandon the paperwork.....I know no piece of paper is going to keep that person away. However defense attorneys will make a argument of the lack of protective orders " if he was a threat were is the protective order?"I'm in no way condoning these views, I'm only acknowledging there existence. In cases such as these it can teeter either way..... hence the more that is documented the better.
